suddenly one night turns into a “okay, so if we’re fake dating we should meet somewhere to properly come up with our backstory” which turns into a “okay, now my parents want to officially meet you over a family dinner”, into a “okay, we’re going on a vacation, my parents insist i bring you with me,” and then the good ol’ “my parents only booked 1 room for us since we’re dating” until eventually both of them realize (far too late) that not all of these feelings are fake

-Magic doesn’t exist: the only things ‘magical’ in RWBY are Dust and Semblances.

-Grimm are humans and faunus who are entirely drained of their aura.

- Whatever is left of their physical forms becomes a Creature of Grimm, ‘Grimm’ being a word in a long-dead language meaning ‘soulless.’

- After death, human/faunus’ souls return to the Earth from whence they came, and those souls’ energy crystallizes into Dust. Dust can merge because it’s two souls becoming one, and the resulting fusion is stronger than either dust would have been by itself.

-As Grimm get older, they become smarter and smarter. This eventually leads to an ‘Aural Singularity,’ or a point when an Ancient Grimm obtains sentience, and regains an aura. 

-While many of these Aural Grimm use their new-found aura to manipulate younger grimm into acting like armies, their constant conflicts prevent them from doing anything more than being a nuisance to humanity, though they still pose quite the threat to small villages.

-Additionally, some of these Grimm have managed to take on a humanoid form, and have come together into a (peaceful!) Grimm-Tribe. Raven and Qrow Branwen were the first two Aural Grimm to ever attend a Hunter’s Academy, though they did it while hiding their true natures from everyone but Tai and Summer.

-Yang Xiao Long’s rage and her potency with her semblance come from the fact that, yes, she is one-half Grimm.

-Huntsmen and Huntresses don’t die all that often as a result of that. Summer Rose’s death made interkingdom headlines, due to how skilled she was. The world is now on-edge, fearing an Ancient Grimm powerful enough to vanquish many huntsmen and huntresses.

-Cinder Fall, like Raven, is an Aural Grimm. However, she has lived far longer than most of her fellow Aural Grimm, and has infused her humanoid form with many, many variations of Burn Dust. She appears to be the only Grimm to have done this.

-Unless their bodies have been infused with Dust, red eyes are a fairly sure-fire way of telling who’s an Aural Grimm, and who isn’t.

-Yes, this does mean that Emerald Sustrai is, in fact, an Aural Grimm. In addition, Mercury Black has gray eyes due to fusion with Dust that causes his body to strengthen under pressure.

-Ozpin and Glynda both appear as young as they do (despite their inherent age) due to an old, now-dead practice: Dust Tattoos. On Ozpin’s back, Temporal Tattoos, along with enhancing his already incredibly-powerful semblance of slowing time to a crawl, have also caused his age to slow. It is unknown how long he has lived for. 

-On Glynda’s back are Gravitational Tattoos. In addition to giving her semblance an extra ‘kick!’, these have also stopped her body from aging entirely.

-People with Silver Eyes are born with a cocktail of dust and blood in their veins. This amplifies their semblances, and their ferocity is where the fairy tale comes from.
