IF YOU LOVE TO WATCH AND/OR WORK IN TV, PLEASE READ THIS!

I remember when Caitlin & Emily came to a BBQ at my friend's house a handful years ago and said to me, "Hey, we have this fun idea for a TV Festival we wanna run by you...what do you think?" When they told me their concept for ATX Television Festival, I replied (in a series on run-on sentences), "Um, yes, please and thank you!! I'd like to come and how can I help and when is it and this is brilliant!! But also...GOOD LUCK!!!"

A year later, they proved that they didn't need luck. They only needed to work their little fannies off and pour their blood sweat and tears into their "fun idea" so they could quickly turn it into ATX TV Festival's first unforgettable weekend (or as they call it, "Season One").

In the wake of "Season 4," it seems they've turned that unforgettable weekend into 4 (FOUR!), can't-miss days that the entire world now wants to know about. What's amazing is that every one of those days are still sitting on top of Cait & Em's original foundation that's simply filled with their passion for the art of telling stories on TV. And just four years later, that foundation now supports a credible, productive and vital brand that is working it's way into being a necessary partnership for success in the TV world. But aside from all the fanfare and glowing press, what's really inspiring to me is that every year, as Cait & Em begin their journey into the next season, they continue to listen to their fans AND their critics to get a grasp on how to make next year even better. And you don't think anything can top the last year until the next year happens. It's ridiculous!

As a TV fan, I continue to sit on the edge of my seat to see what in the hell they'll come up with next. As a TV professional, I am so fucking, goddamn, shitballs excited about the future of ATX for our television community. But as their friend, there's not enough curse words in the world to adequately express how proud I am of them. These girls took something they loved and shared it with other people who love it too. Thank you, ladies.

So when you find yourself hearing about the ATX TV Festival next year, take my advice: Just say, "Um, yes, please and thank you!!"
