One of my idols once said, “You can't connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards.” My mind has almost consistently been in the future for years now, perhaps because I don’t want to look back at my past. But the people I’ve been meeting lately have been bringing me back to the present moment, and in turn I look back at the past. However, when I do look back, I realize without the past ugly dots I wouldn’t be where I am to make the beautiful ones with you now in the present. Therefore, each and every one of you make the dots all the more clear as to why they had to be there in the first place, solidifying the connections between them.
