#Repost from @americancancersociety with @ming.app . "This picture was taken hours after Mom’s diagnosis. I had to anxiously wait for my hubby to return from a work trip to go see her. As soon as he was home, we loaded up the van and all 5 of us drove to DC. THE LONGEST CAR RIDE OF MY LIFE (and mind you, I just about gave birth in the car w/#3). As soon as I got into her hospital room, I climbed in bed with her just like she used to do with me when I was a little girl. I put my arms around her. I stroked her hair. All the things she would do for me as a child. And then we slept. Well, she slept. I stared at & prayed for her. For 2 hours, just like this. I never took my arms off her for fear if I did, then I would permanently lose her. . We have some big test results coming up this week. Scans that will show if the tumors have shrunk. 🙏 Friends, I’m really scared. I’m worried. I’m strong, I do hard things. But I can also weep hard. I’m hoping for the best. At the end of the day, I feel like I’m just a little girl again, hoping for my Mom to come home again, for everything to be OK again, for Mom to feel good again, and for her to braid my hair and tuck me into bed & sing a song. It’s funny how even now in my 30’s I want my Mom. Ohh, how I want my Mom so badly." -@stephersmac . . . Need someone to talk to?
