Day 07- A picture of someone/something that has the biggest impact on you
I have three that really need to be put out here.
1) Gone With the Wind
I didn't want to watch this at first. I was thirteen, and in middle school, when my mom decided it would be good 'mother-daughter bonding' or something. I don't know. I don't think she expected me to love it as much as I did. That year, in eighth grade, I read the book. And the next summer when I had to go to summer school so I'd get out of the house, I spent my entire computer class googling GWTW, Southern Belles and the like, until I found the Athenaeum.
The rest is history...
2) Les Miserables
That self same eighth grade year, the high school across town decided to put Les Miserables on. Again, I had no desire to see it. Musicals, please. HISTORICAL Musicals, not a chance in hell. But I was dragged in, and I ended up loving it.
I think my parents regret taking me to it now.....
This show made me change schools, so I could go to the high school that did musicals, it made me decide I wanted to be a performer, and it brought me all the wonderful friends I made in high school, that I would have missed out on .
3) Mary-Jane Watson
I've wanted to be her for as long as I can remember. In my 12-year-old eyes, she was perfect. Boys liked her, she was talented, motivated, and adorkable, sweet Peter Parker was her boyfriend. I know now that she had a lot of shit to work through, but she did.
