MY K-POP WIRE at live: ATEEZ Bring “IN YOUR FANTASY” to Life in Kuala Lumpur
The energy was electric as ATEEZ returned to Kuala Lumpur for their highly anticipated In Your Fantasy tour, proving once again that Malaysian ATINYs will show up, show out, and lose their voices by song three. While this marked their second visit to the city, it was their first time officially including Kuala Lumpur as a tour stop—making the night feel extra special, and long overdue.
The concert featured nearly 30 songs spanning multiple albums, seamlessly blending title tracks and B-sides into a setlist that left little room to breathe—in the best way possible. From explosive hits like “Bouncy” and “Guerrilla” to emotional, chest-clutching moments with “Turbulence” and “This House Ain’t a Home,” ATEEZ proved their ability to command both intensity and vulnerability with equal power. A wholesome sing-along segment for “Castle” saw ATINYs collectively stepping in as the unofficial ninth member, filling the venue with unified voices.
Just when the night felt like it had reached its peak, ATEEZ elevated the experience further with a live band. The addition brought a new depth to their performance, offering a refreshing contrast to standard arrangements and allowing the audience to fully immerse themselves in the music’s raw energy.
Throughout the night, the members repeatedly expressed how much they had missed Kuala Lumpur, sharing how strongly they could feel the love from Malaysian ATINYs. Their attempts at speaking Malay—especially calling fans their “sayang”—drew loud cheers and instantly melted hearts across the venue. Wooyoung also made sure to gently remind everyone to return home safely, a small but thoughtful gesture that reflected the group’s sincerity.
The solo stages stood out as one of the concert’s defining highlights, with each member stepping into their own spotlight and showcasing their unique artistry. From intense, high-energy performances to softer, emotionally driven pieces, the range was both impressive and captivating. During their ments, the members shared the effort and thought poured into these stages, confidently expressing that ATINY would enjoy every moment—with San playfully reinforcing that confidence.
Seonghwa, in particular, left the audience in awe with his symbolic “shedding skin” performance—an artistic portrayal of rebirth that was haunting, beautiful, and impossible to look away from. It was more than just a stage; it unfolded as a theatrical moment that lingered long after it ended.
Meanwhile, Hongjoong brought both nostalgia and inspiration to the night. He shared that he had visited Malaysia with his family when he was younger, and returning as an artist carried a deeper meaning. In one of the evening’s most heartfelt moments, he reminded fans that everyone holds their own dreams, and that with time, perseverance, and belief, those dreams can one day become reality.
Another unforgettable highlight came with the celebration of Yunho’s birthday. Both ATEEZ and ATINYs came together for a joyful moment filled with singing and cheers, as Yunho bounced across the stage with pure excitement. The energy was infectious, turning the arena into what felt like one big shared celebration.
Adding a uniquely Malaysian touch, some fans attended the concert dressed in traditional Hari Raya attire, beautifully coordinated with the night’s black and red dress code. While the concert fell on the second day of Raya—making it difficult for some fans to attend—the presence of those who did created a meaningful atmosphere that reflected both celebration and dedication. It also left many hoping that more local fans will have the opportunity to experience ATEEZ’s concert live in Malaysia in the future.
In the end, In Your Fantasy was more than just a concert—it was an experience. A night filled with music, emotion, and genuine connection. From live band arrangements to powerful solo stages, from heartfelt ments to celebratory moments, ATEEZ didn’t just perform—they connected. And if there’s one thing Malaysian ATINYs can agree on, it’s this: they better come back soon… or we will not be okay.
