           This had always been his biggest problem— not thinking things through. Maybe it was cute once, when he was younger, but he was supposed to be a grownup now, he knew that. He had a kid after all. He still couldn’t really believe that, and he had to admit it was a hundred times harder than he had expected it to be. Maybe that was why he couldn’t help but switch his brain off a little when he didn’t have Ellie. Something he was regretting now that he stood there opposite Charlotte. “You know me though, you know how fucking stupid I am sometimes… I’m sorry. I promise it’s not gonna happen again, okay? Riley doesn’t really know what to do -- or say -- so she goes to the fridge for breakfast supplies. It’s Saturday, and that’s good because she doesn’t think she’d survive a work day still smelling like Gabriel. Partially her fault. She has one of his t-shirts on.
