What do you think has changed most about RandL?

Wow okay. I think so much has changed about them tbh. The biggest thing that comes to mind is just how open they are and how they’re much more willing to speak their minds. I feel like for so long they tried staying neutral on basically every front you can imagine, and while they’re still pretty tight lipped about things and self censor a lot (more than I’d like but I get it too) they’re way more open now than they’ve ever been. Idk that’s my take at least. What’s yours? (if you wanna share I mean) 

The first thing he notices is that it doesn’t hurt. 

Maybe it’s the adrenaline or maybe that’s a bad sign, but regardless, it doesn’t hurt. He tries standing, and there’s pretty much nothing there anymore, and he wobbles until he’s falling again. This time, he cuts his hand on a rock, and laughs when that hurts more than his very obviously broken leg. 

His bike, which is a few feet to the left of him, looks okay. 

He’s okay. 

But his leg is definitely broken. So he scrambles for his phone out of his pocket and doesn’t think about it before he’s calling Rhett. He’ll know what to do, right? And he won’t tell Christy until he at least has Link at a hospital, which is the important thing right now. 

When Rhett answers, it’s with an abrupt, “You didn’t hurt yourself, did you?”

And Link immediately says, “Don’t tell Christy. Can you come get me?” 

He hears a sigh, and then a quick conversation that sounds a lot like Rhett telling Jessie and Jessie trying very hard not to get annoyed. There’s concern laced in all of it, but they had maybe told him not to be stupid this time since he crashed last time he came biking, too. 

“So, what’d you do? How bad is it?” 

Link, cringing, tells him, “I’m pretty sure I broke my leg. It looks pretty bad.” 

“Christy is gonna kill you, man,” Rhett says, a little bit of laughter dancing through. “Alright, so here’s what we’re gonna do. I’m gonna come find your dumb ass and get you to the hospital, and then I’m going to let Jessie do damage control over a glass or two of wine. Sound good?” 

Link puts his head in his hands and inhales heavily. He’s a dead man. But even so, “Yeah. Alright. Sounds like a plan.” 

I just did this, but I’ll do it again :)

I posted something similar on twitter, my theory is that it feels like older interview EBs but with unknown people about random stuff (instead of deeper life stories) that are not as interesting. Also, this format kills their banter, limiting their interactions. I agree with what someone said over there, that it felt weird cause they were talking to a couple of people and not to each other or to us and it felt distant

Good points. I also think that because the people they were talking to were on the other end of a phone, there were some delays and talking over one another in ways that wouldn’t happen if they were interviewing someone who was physically at the round table of dim lighting. It made the conversation feel stilted at times.

I was just talking with a few others last night about how interacting with you leaves me feeling like I’ve just gotten a big hug. This is just further proof of your generally awesomeness and kind hearted nature.
