A fic I read this year that I would recommend everyone read - ahhhh! no this is such a hard choice!! alright, I have to go with @adiprose heard the risk is drowning because, well, hockey <3 it’s so phenomenal! There are so many great reads in this fandom it was legitimately hard to choose. I love all the fic writers <3

(I’m recommending this even though the Panthers beat my beloathed Leafs that how great the fic is, it supersedes my actual hockey loyalties)

Sooo, you actually get four, bc i can't narrow it down more than that 😂

I'm going to give you two Teen Wolf writers and two Assassin's Creed writers whose fics I absolutely adore and who have rewritten my brain chemistry with their works!

First, the reason I actually got into Teen Wolf at all is thanks to Proposing to Strangers by @moonstalker24 (here's also a post of a very nice cover art someone made for the fic!). One of my besties gave me that fic with the words 'I know you're not interested in Teen Wolf, but I also know you will like this.' and she was right! Not only lured me Moonies work into Teen Wolf, but I also fell head first into Steter which is THE OTP for me since that moment - which is 5 years and counting.

Thanks to falling into Teen Wolf and Steter I also found another great writer who rewrote my brain chemistry not long after I'd read Proposing to Strangers: @wordsformurder/pprfaith's Naughty Hookers series. This series not only got me back into crocheting and fiber crafts in general but also is one of those fics that I regularly re-read/come back to, because it's a series I utterly love that gives me comfort in hard times.

I could probably name a dozen other writer names here, but, well, you can just look at my AO3-Bookmarks and find all of them there 😂

So on to the Assassin's Creed writers!

I actually don't quite know with whom I want to start, so let's do it chronologically 😂

@yobotica writes beautiful fic and has written one of my favorite Assassin's Creed pieces Ghost so if you are interested in Desmond at all (which sadly not many people seem to be q_q at least outside of fandom) you have to read it!

And, last, but definitely not least @raett97 / @raetttriestowrite! Who has written and still writes the gorgeous series of Bless This Mess, This Mess Is Mine (together with UntoldDepths), a Assassin's Creed/The Old Guard crossover I didn't know I wanted until I read it and now I can't live without it anymore 😂 Aside from being an awesome person I like very much, Raett's writing also has a quality that I'm in awe and envious of, so if you like any of those fandoms, you HAVE to check this fic out! 💕

What's a headcanon you can't stop thinking about? Maybe somethign that's been sparking a dream wip?

So, I play a bit fast and loose with headcanons, if I'm honest--I am very flexible with character interpretation as long as they remain in-character and are compelling!

The big one is that I tend to automatically headcanon most of my mlm ships as vers/switch because I hate enforcing the whole "big guy fucks the smaller guy" thing, or "big guy Doms smaller guy", even if the characters are canonically top or bottom only, unless the author of the original or the fic makes an extremely compelling argument lol

With regards to a specific character, Derek Hale is a sub, or a switch who prefers subbing. You cannot convince me otherwise. One day, this will be the main aspect of a sterek fic. Right now, it is simply a fact.

It is a very dramatic and epic title, and I wish I could take more credit for it, but it's a line from a Mountain Goats song called Werewolf Gimmick:

I wrote a ficlette a few years back called Know How A Man Becomes A Beast about Stiles being turned into some sort of chimera and Peter finding him. It was all from Peter's POV, so this would be a sequel that picks up right after, but from Stiles' POV and, focuses on an accidental bond between him and Peter triggered because Peter was the one who found him.
