I am nearly done with the fourth disc of @emilieautumnofficial's #AsylumAudiobook (pictured here with the cup I have had since the Asylum Experience), and I had intended to wait to say anything at all until after I had finished it, but the excitement is too great. This audiobook is absolutely perfect. I have owned a copy of The Asylum For Wayward Victorian Girls for some years now, and though I have read it many times, the audiobook makes me feel as though I am hearing Emilie and Emily's stories for the very first time, and not only because of the new content that EA has given us but because, through her reading of it, EA has breathed new life into the story. I have been listening to it in my car, and I find that, each time I reach my destination, I am tempted to be late to wherever I am going so that I may hear Emilie read more of the story that truly did change (and perhaps even save) my life. I love this book. It is, hands down, one of my absolute favourites. And the audiobook has renewed that love, and made my excitement and anticipation for the upcoming musical magnify tenfold. I pre-ordered this audiobook the day it became available, way back in 2014, and let me tell you all: This lovely audiobook has been worth EVERY SECOND I waited and EVERY CENT that I paid.
