As for dreams, ah, they are very important, are they not? Not in a spiritual sense, I don't think, though I do know there are some that are capable of finding the future in their dreams. In the same vein as diving tea leaves and coffee grounds, mhm? Beyond that, though, dreams are a very important part of having a healthy mind. Even if you do not always remember them upon waking, it is the way one's subconscious processes events and feelings."

"Not so much these nights, but when Madame Consoler fell ill, I had many many mornings of fitful sleep. Most of all, these dreams had me convinced that I would never be fit to take her place when she passed.

Alaska, while unable to come back planetside for the ball, made it back for a week for the holidays. Odecil lets him stay in her guest room most of the time. He's currently sat in an armchair in her living room, her catty-cornered to him on the couch, each with a cup of warm mulled wine. She's talking about this sweeps faculty drama, and is the only person alive who could make the petty squabbles of university staff legitimately interesting to him. He's hanging on every word, but careful not take his attention too far from how much he's drinking, lest his mind drift to different things.
Her hive is warm and wide and completely her own, from the tangerine loaded fridge to the coffee-table scrapbook of comic clippings to the fat-knitted throws over every chair.
Alaska spends a fair bit of energy toting his belongings from place to place to make every fleet-sanctioned apartment feel comfortable, but here feels more like home than he could ever carry in a suitcase, and it's never been his.
