astronorner said: what a random song from the show. Like not passing judgments but of all the beautiful pieces in poto you pick the most random piece haha
(regarding my favorite song from Phantom of the Opera being "Why Have You Brought Me Here?/Raoul I've Been There") I don't think it's terribly random, I think it's just overlooked. Like I didn't pick it just to be "original" or anything, I really love how Christine and Raoul's voices overlap like they're having a conversation. The lyrics are especially good in this portion and I think it's one of the major turning points of the show and really shows Christine's panic and Raoul is trying to console her while also trying to point out logic. The fact that it's not done to death might be a small factor, I'll admit. That's a danger with Phantom songs. I don't know, I've just always really loved this song/scene. It might seem random, but it's my favorite nevertheless. SUPER close with a lot of other songs though.
