Kelly do you think Hades would give Jason an awkward sort-of-but-not-really shovel talk at some point-?
i don't think so but only because jason kinda beats him to it. it's in that relatively early stage of nico and hades' relationship, pre-TLO. jason's been doing the "polite kid trying to stay on his friend's parent's good side" bit for a while and not stick his nose too deep into nico's business, but he frequently gets a front-row seat to hades being a dick in those early days when hades is doing his "bianca should have been the one to survive" shit. jason would normally let nico handle everything with his dad out of fear of overstepping (and a very rational fear of pissing off a god that already seems to dislike him on principle), but it eventually hits a point where he's mad enough to speak up. politely, of course, like "respectfully, sir–"

happy belated birthday, @astronavigatrix ;u; i know this is like two entire weeks late, but like hell that was gonna stop me from writing you some Good Good Camino Content. enjoy! 💚💚💚
“Virgo season’s almost over.”
It’s the first thing Nino says once he’s awake enough to put sentences together, and from her seat at the edge of the bed, Camila looks at him like he’s grown an extra head.
“There’s literally a hundred different things you could’ve said,” she tells him with a stretch and the tickle of the shag carpet under her bare feet. “Earth Wind and Fire Day, even, and you pick that?”
“Well, what was I supposed to say?”
“I dunno, maybe something about not having to wake up at the ass-crack of dawn for once? Or, y’know, the fact that it’s your entire birthday—”
Nino laughs. “My entire birthday—”
“Or—” Cam picks out where her sleep shorts bunch up, flips her hair forward to tie it into the best ponytail she can manage. Which is already hard, when it’s long and curly and wracked with sleep. Maybe she should consider getting it cut soon. “Or something about the pretty girl who slept next to you all night instead of being up to her ears in vitals?”
He props himself up on an elbow—which, in her expert opinion, is completely unfair when he sleeps in a tank top and makes it clear that he never skimps on arm day at the gym. “I already know all those things,” he drawls sleepily, grinning as he reaches behind him for his glasses. “I’m already grateful for all those things.”
She laughs it off, more theatrically than she means to, but it doesn’t do a good job of hiding the flutter in her stomach. Or maybe it does, but Nino knows her so well that he can see through practically anything. All she says is, “You don’t even like that zodiac stuff.”
“No.” He shrugs. “But Marinette does. And I like Marinette. So it’s inevitable, isn’t it?”
She’s about to tell him that that doesn’t count, because she’s pretty sure it’s impossible for anyone to not like Marinette. But then he reaches for her, tugging at the hem of her oversized shirt, and says something about how she’s too far away. And she can’t really deny him then. Not when it’s already so rare for them to wake up together, whether it’s because Nino has to open up the café, or because she had a late night doing the rounds at the hospital, or even because their families might start to suspect something if they spend too much time alone together. It doesn’t matter that by now he’s already admitted to thinking about marriage; “thinking about marriage” isn’t “marriage,” and they care too much about their mothers to so blatantly ignore the foundations they hold sacred.
So she crawls back into bed with him, where he’s still bathing in 8A.M. sunlight and flicking the morning radio on, because neither of them wants silence if they can help it. She lets him take her hair back down and curls up against his chest like it’s the first time they’ve ever done this. He tucks her head under his chin, fingers trailing up and down the dip in her spine, and the more she quietly sinks into his touch, the more she thinks she could fall right back asleep. It wouldn’t be a crime, but…
“Are Tati and Noël coming over?”
She can feel Nino tense, in just the way that his brain wants to hide it but his body can’t really help it. He’s not scared of them—neither of them is—but it’d probably be for the best if she made herself scarce first. Then he relaxes, kissing the top of her head. “Nah,” he mumbles. “But I am going back home tonight. She’s making your favorite. You know. In case you wanted to ‘totally coincidentally’ meet me there.”
Cam tries to laugh off the lingering nerves, and mostly succeeds. “You don’t see me objecting.”
They stay like that for a while, simply holding each other, because those nervous things are better left unsaid any day of the year. His free hand finds hers just over the blankets, and he squeezes it and brings it to his lips in silent thanks. When she asks what for, he mumbles something about her being here and leaves it at that.
It’s funny. All he had to do was be here to be the guy she wanted to stay with. To live with for longer than a few months, and do chores beside, and get a ride home from work when her legs threaten to give out on her. To talk to, and cry with, and gather up in her arms with the guarantee that he would do the same for her in a heartbeat. It’s funny, she thinks, because they already had a life together. They just had to make it their own.
“What’re you thinking about?”
Cam snaps out of her thoughts with a couple of blinks. “Huh?”
Nino laughs over the radio commercial and rubs wide, sweeping circles into her back. As though she’s the one who deserves to be pampered, not him. (He’s always thought that. Every day of the year.) “Look how tight you’re holding me,” he jokes softly. “If we believed in that stuff, I’d think you were a boa constrictor in another life.”
He’s right; their legs are tangled almost irreversibly, and her nails dig so deep into his arm that they leave little crescents in their wake. “Sorry,” she mumbles, absently kissing her fingertips and pressing them to the marks. “Guess I missed you more than I thought.”
He’s known her long enough to know there’s more truth to it, but he’s gracious enough to leave it alone. They don’t talk about believing anymore or boas, or any of that astrology stuff. Instead, she buries her face in his chest and breathes in deep, and his tank top muffles her when she adds, “You still smell like coffee.” And cinnamon rolls, icing and all. Her favorite.
Nino laughs, a hearty, homey rumble in his chest. “Guess I can’t escape work even on the best days.”
“I don’t mind it.” Her nose bumps his jaw; week-old scruff doesn’t feel so bad on him. It certainly doesn’t look bad, either. “It’s nice.”
“You’re nice.”
This time, Cam laughs too. This time, it isn’t so weak. She lets the radio drone on a bit longer before she starts to move, until she’s on top of him. She’s always liked how he looks like that, all sprawled out under her, watching her with his arms folded behind his head. One day she just stopped being so quiet about how it made her feel. “Want me to make breakfast?” she asks. “Your scrambled eggs are always gonna be way better than mine, but I can always give it a shot…”
Somewhere along the way, Nino’s hands find her thighs as he shuffles up against the pillows. His palms skim up, and back again, and when their fingers lace it reminds her that Nino has never been like other men. Nino has never wanted what other men want. “Not yet,” he says. Soft, husky. A plea with a growl to it. “It’s my entire birthday, and it’s Earth Wind and Fire Day, and it’s Virgo season. So in conclusion, you’re legally obligated to keep holding me.”
“Habibi, that doesn’t even make sense.”
“It’s my birthday,” he says again with a matter-of-fact shrug. “So I say it makes sense. And I still say it’s the law.”
Cam thinks, as she settles on top of him, that there are many laws she’d question, and a handful she might even break. She knows, as her head finds a home in the curve of his neck and his arms cage her in and the easy morning music drifts and seeps into their bones, that this certainly isn’t one of them.

1. What was the first fandom and/or pairing that you wrote fic for?
bro… honest to God, the first fandom i ever wrote fic for was Liberty's Kids, which was this cartoon on PBS that covered the american revolution. y'all my first ever fic is still out there somewhere and it is Hot Garbage.
3. Do you write fics from start or finish, or jump around?
start to finish! but if there's a particular scene or quote that comes to mind for later, i make sure to write it down somewhere so i don't forget it when i get to that part.
5. What is the perfect environment for you to write in?
tucked away in the corner of a coffee shop with an iced drink and The Right Song on repeat one in my earbuds. either that, or on my front porch or in bed with the lights off. i gotta have complete solitude in some way or form or else i can't focus.
7. Which part of writing do you struggle with most?
honestly? establishing plot and conflict. most of what i wrote is slice-of-life, so any Big Things that happen are just things that naturally occur in people's lives. life doesn't intentionally have a plot or a conflict; it is what it is, and i like writing the ups and downs that it takes us through. i'm really and truly envious of people who can establish good plots and conflicts.
This is Part Three, and it's 100% dedicated to Lukanette. I've been trying to scale back on the amount of salt I'm reading...but be sure to double check all the authors' tags just in case. Previously there were Part One and Part Two, which were more diverse in content. Oh, there’s a Part Four too.
1. Mon Cœur S'ouvre à Ta Voix
Sometimes, what you're listening to isn't your heart, and when it comes to Luka, Marinette discovers that listening a little closer goes a long way.
2. A Stack Of Lies Is Not A Firm Foundation
Luka has always been the kind of guy who sticks up for the people he loves without hesitation, but handling Lila Rossi is going to take more than him and his good intentions. Luckily, he knows someone who won't hesitate to do what's right.
3. Acmé
The first day of school always brings new and exciting things. No one was ready for one of those things to be her.
4. La Nuit Porte Conseil
Marinette's always had terrible luck. Adding a destruction god to her life doesn't really help with that. Fortunately, she's got more than Plagg to rely on while she figures these powers out. Now if only her new partner could help her deal with her unexpected crush.
5. A Dream, Unfulfilled
A jealous Chat, and a supportive Viperion.
6. Long Overdue
It's been three years since Adrien broke up with Marinette, and he's anxious to make amends and repair things between them. But it's disconcerting to find Luka back in her life, and that's only the start of the complications.
7. Something Just Like This
Luka's picked up an extra job delivering flowers for Valentine's Day, and to his surprise one of his deliveries is to Marinette Dupain-Cheng. They lost touch a few years ago, but she's back in town and this chance meeting seems like a great time to pick up where their friendship where they left off.
8. Stolen Moments When You're Mine
Marinette likes Luka. She can admit that now. And she really likes kissing Luka—she can also admit that. And she knows he likes her, too. And all the kissing. She’s just not quite ready for everyone to accuse her of using him as a rebound or a ploy to make Adrien jealous yet. Really, she’s not ready to share him at all.
9. The One to Make It Stay
Marinette gets to thinking that maybe it's time to move on from Adrien, and focus on the things that make her happy. And people that make her happy.
10. It's Complicated
What do you get when you cross a black cat, a designer, a guitarist, and a fencer? The answer is it's complicated. Chat Noir stops by to help Marinette with her design block. When he finds out the design is for Luka, he has to figure out why that bothers him. Surely it's because she's a very good friend, right? Meanwhile, Marinette struggles with letting go of Adrien and figuring out why Chat Noir is suddenly acting so differently...
11. The Perfect Tune
It's been a couple of weeks since Marinette and Luka started dating, around the same time that Adrien and Kagami made their relationship official. Hawk Moth has been strangely inactive since Chloe outed most of the Miraculous users. Luka lets it slip that he's aware of Marinette's dual identity as Ladybug. Viperion has a plan to finally defeat Hawk Moth—can Cat agree to it, or will his jealousy that Viperion knows Ladybug's secret identity first drive him to make rash decisions?
12. A Few Notes
Haunted by certain ice cream flavors and the realization that her love will never be reciprocated, Marinette finds herself comforted by the soft blue lilt of an all-too-familiar melody. As she starts to rebuild herself from scratch, there's no telling how soon she will again be swept away, lost in a sea of cerulean. Marinette can't help but build up walls, but they are clear and fragile as windowpanes. All it takes is a heartfelt tune to send her crashing through, diving, straight into the deep end.
13. Broken Melody
Marinette is trying to stay positive, but things are making it so hard for her. She's tired of being mistrusted and doubted by her friends, she's tired of giving second chances to those who've hurt her, she's tired of the responsibilities that a 14 year-old isn't supposed to have. She's tired of fighting. Marinette is just...tired.
14. Song in the Heart
Being Ladybug could be hard. Being Ladybug could be stressful. Being Ladybug could be anything on any day. But today, being Ladybug might mean that Marinette has someone to go to.
15. Sometimes You Just Need a Tattoo
Marinette gets her first tattoo, and Luka supports her latest creative stint.
16. The Swan Song of One Marinette Dupain-Cheng
When Marinette’s classmates spurn her feelings, Luka’s there to pick up the pieces.
17. The Emotional Quandary of a Well Designed Jacket
Love can come in many forms...including a well tailored jacket, and blossoming friendships.
I wish I could avoid ship wars in this—and every—fandom. If you don't like my currently favourite ship, just ignore my post and don't interact with me. Sigh... 😔
