I think its all personal preference, if you aren’t a very emotional or “dramatic” person then a Cancer can be very draining and overwhelming to have around. People who can tolerate or don’t mind sensitivity would do better around them.

I would say the only issue I see would be the clashing of the Venus signs. They rule love and how we express and desire to receive love. As a Scorpio myself I would never put myself in a relationship with another Aquarius. Scorpio in the Venus placement needs deep, intimate and emotional connections and honestly im sure every Aquarius can testify that is not the move for them. They arent consistent enough for a watery sign and there would be a lot of problems involving satisfying the Scorpio Venus’s needs. 

If it ended badly and he tends to act like you dont exist he might just be smiling to be polite. Scorpios tend to not forgive, his pisces moon would be your source of hope as they tend to be more forgiving, though I dont see a Scorpio/cap combination to put themselves back into something that didnt work out the first time. If its been that long I wouldn’t hype yourself up about it as you might be better off looking out for someone else.
