i’m officially a co-author on an astrophysics paper!! hopefully it’ll be published later this year but !!!!!!!!!! nonetheless

the ISS is going to be decommissioned in 2031 and it’s going to plummet into a very specific spot of the Pacific ocean and that’s really really weird to me like we’re just not gonna have an international space station like huh

starting to watch don’t look up and i saw on jennifer lawrence’s screen that she’s using hsc which is an instrument on a japanese telescope called subaru. cool part for me is i simulated pictures of galaxies as seen through that telescope (among a few others) this semester for work yeehaw

yes, research means dead ends, which naturally means that i’ll spend hours working on things that don’t pan out but if i don’t make a little bit of progress in the next few days i’m gonna snap
