Hi I'm a Virgo and I was wondering if you could tell me about Sun signs and Moon signs cause I never really understand them. I was born August 29th, 1994 at 12:13 AM.
Hello! I’m going to be using you as an example here. Hope you don’t mind.
How to interpret your birth chart:
Step 1: Input your birth information
Using this link, you can find the placements of the planets in your horoscope. You can use other sites, but I’ve found that this site is easy to use and understand. You’ll come across a page that looks like this:
There, you need to input your date and location of birth, and if you have it, the time that you were born.
Since the location of birth was not given, I decided to choose NYC.
Step 2: Find your birth chart wheel
Once you click the “next” button, an interactive birth chart wheel should appear, that looks a little like this.
Step 3: Interpreting each of the planets
This wheel not only shows the sun, moon, and the rest of the planets, but also shows the Ascendant/rising sign (determined by the time of birth). We can see that the asker’s moon is in the sign of Gemini. You can click on every planet shown for an interpretation. For instance, if I scroll down, I will see Anonymous’ Virgo sun.
If I click on the Sun’s symbol- the orange circle (ignore the rest of the symbols for now), an interpretation comes up for Sun in Virgo, as well as a description of what the Sun means and represents in your horoscope.
You can find descriptions for the rest of the planets: from Mercury through Pluto. Here’s another example description of Moon in Gemini.
Step 4: Finding your aspects
Once you’ve thoroughly explored the planets’ descriptions, you can start to take a look at the aspects each planet makes. You can tell this by the lines connected between each planet: red lines indicate tension and growth, blue lines indicate inborn talents and ease of expression.
In addition, whenever you click on a planet, there is a list of the aspects it makes. For instance, with Anonymous’s Sun in Virgo:
The Sun (ego, vitality, persona) is square (in conflict) with the moon (emotions, private side)- this can make for difficulty in self-expression, but if this is worked through, can make for a creative and adaptable person.
The Sun (ego, vitality, persona) is sextile (in harmony) with Jupiter (luck, expansion, opportunity). This is a very easy area of expression, and makes for a person who has an optimistic view on life, can easily try out new things, and therefore seems to be very lucky.
This applies with all the planets- and if you’d like, you can fully explore your aspects in a reading here.
Have fun exploring your chart~
