Yet another Asterixification of an existing oc. Krister Bergström becomes Serendipitus. They/them, and he/him if you're nasty >:C
Canonically they're a mentor character for Thomas, but in this setting they're Dolorus' master. Patient, charismatic, intelligent and insightful. Can be flamboyant at times. Enjoys the finer things in life.
Inspired by @coe-olivier 's Asterix ocs, I drew my oc Thomas Schneider in the same setting.
Born in Germania under the name Melancholic, then sold to Rome as a slave when he was a child. His master was a patient and sympathetic person, and encouraged him to read in various languages, to work as a translator and interpreter. Melancholic changed his name to Dolorus in order to assimilate better into Roman society. He is rather frail and sickly, shy and anxious, and an utter wet sock of a man who never gets enough sleep.
Despite that, he is rather gentle, polite and courteous, with an interest in druidic medicine. He hates confrontation and would rather hide than fight, but if under pressure he can use his knowledge of diplomacy to keep the peace.
After his master passed away, he works in the library and archives of Rome, proof-reading texts and ensuring that all is in proper order.
Idea: Baby Asterix developing his powers and his dad's (Sun and Taurus) finding him crawling on the walls or on the ceiling.
