π - Do you have a specific character type that you usually find applies to your favorites?
The broody old or, when not human, ancient dude with dad qualities who either has a villainous side or gets branded a villain when he really is just tired. Tired, especially, I like the tired. They tend to be relatable in some ways. Usually. I was into full-on villains once, writing-wise, but I started to find redeeming qualities appealing. Or characters that got good arcs which then were butchered down the line so I want to save them lol My list here is a mix of greater variety. I tend to get drawn to characters with leader personalities too, for some reason? Maybe it's due to irl people trying to push leading roles onto me and I reject because too much responsibility. So I just enjoy watching/diving into fictional characters who have that and, in my stead, accept the leading role.

HE'D FOUND her alone in the rain , not exactly asleep , but certainly not conscious . normally , were he to find a girl unconscious and muttering on the ground on an abandoned street at night , he would call the police . but this girl . . . she was radiating power , practically coming off of her in waves . strips of steam rose up from her wet skin .
so instead of calling the police who would , no doubt , only make things worse , giles made the potentially terrible decision to TAKE HER HOME , laying her on the couch with a cold compress on her forehead . he sat himself in the chair , a comfortable distance from the girl so when ( if . . . ) she awoke , she would do so without some strange man hovering above her .

u have suuuch a way with words holyyyyy. there's a kind of introspective way to ur writing that centers mostly on lilly's feelings and yet the emotions she is feeling and the thoughts that she is having are so grand and real. theyre dried up creek beds and arterial fissures. theyre canyons and storms... and i feel like u do a really good job giving weight to the cataclysmic inner life of miss lilly... also u are always talking abt her and i love that. inspirational. your edits of her? wish i could do that

i hate to say this but the second i picked this url i said the exact same thing to @teschfiles and neither of us have been able to see it the same since then. :/ one day i'll figure out a better one since this was meant to be a placeholder anyway.
there are days when only his -- admittedly very impressive -- brain can make sense of the universe. flynn is not bragging. it is just how it is. natural genius && being the one human being who has the entirety of human knowledge at his fingertips.
this... this is not one of these days. this is the reason why he doesn't leave the library much, because while he can make sense of time travel, quantum physics and knows the real history of henry the eighty, normal human behaviours, like a date, is still, somehow, beyond his vast and otherwise unmentionable powers.
