Don't mind us, casually training guide directions while out and about. Guide dogs should not pull, nor should they require being "guided" by their collar as I have seen some do. Guide dogs should respond to voice or handle commands and should already be trained in directions prior to going to their blind owner. VĆ”li is being trained to guide for the following reasons: - Migraines (both blindfolded and not) - Autism Meltdowns/Shutdowns - Fibromyalgia Flare/Picking the easiest route to the exit/bench/vehicle - Disassociation (I've lost track of the amount of times I've accidentally yeeted into roads without realising) For right now we're going to keep on practicing our vocal commands to get them 100% down, ensure he stays at a stead pace and takes stopping and going again smoother than just a jarring stop. Once he's got that down we will then work on stairs, he's already stopping at kerbs and takes it upon himself to check for cars. He's a good boy and I wouldn't be anywhere without him.
