#aspiring actor

and of course, you grow up. you are told that dreams like these are for people who have talent, who are rich, who have the looks/body for it, who are born for it. and you are none of those things.

so you shove those feelings down. you convince yourself you are simply a kid with a wild dream that will need to suck it up and face reality. so you study subjects you like but don't love. you find a career that you like and don't love. you still have that dream but you are questioning if the fire has already burnt out and it is just ashes that are left.

but deep down, the fire has been burning. it has been burning since the moment you saw that movie or stepped on that stage. it has been the fuel to all your dreams and motivations.

and then you see someone. like you. similar age, and the same dream. and you are reminded that you can indeed do it. will you defy the odds and let that fire burn?

i told one of my oldest friends a couple days ago. we were talking about future plans and she is currently a doctor at a hospital, and she asked what i was going to do. im currently working in childcare, don't get me wrong, i like working with kids. but again, i like it i don't love it.

i told her, the first person since making an actor resume and submitting audition requests: i want to be an actor. i was expecting "lol no way" or a "good luck". instead, she responded with "i think that's a good thing. you've been wanting this since, well, since the beginning." and i think that just consolidated that i want this. so badly.

so ive been submitting requests to self tapes, i was on my first film set yesterday as an extra, who sat on a bench and read a book while someone danced past.
