MAXXXINE (2024)

Log 0: When I originally tried to gauntlet this album, work got really scary but we'll just let it ride. I'm really hoping this is a fun time which I think it will be. I had Blue Monday stuck in my head this morning, so I will be chasing that in here.

Log 1: DANCE... is already bringing me back to some early days Gaga. I'm very in the mood for this energy.

Log 2: I feel like Slayyter and I have similar Pinterest boards. I bet we like the same movies. A Slayyyter peloton workout would go insane.

Log 3: I think I equate dense to good. That's not really a bad thing, but I acknowledge that sometimes I'll consider albums "objectively" good in an ars perfecta kind of way, but what I really mean in dense. I would put WOR$T GIRL IN AMERICA in that bucket. Other examples from that bucket are like, Mahasmashalla and Random Access Memories and brat which are pretty close to ars perfecta but are also very dense.

Log 4: The way YES GODDD would have hit during my X (2022) phase. This is a very Maxxxine coded album which brings me back to log 3. I bet Maxxxine Minx is all over Slayyyter's Pinterest just like mine. I"M ACTUALLY KINDA FAMOUS? Yeah, this is totally for Maxxxine fans.

Log 5: I think giving albums number grades is lowkey blasphemous, but this definitely has 10/10 potential. I wouldn't say it is as emotionally resonant or complex as my other 10/10ers, but this is close. I'd buy it for my car if I still had a car with a CD player.
