I am like this too! I wish I could speak as well as I write. I feel significantly dumbed down in conversation. Stumbling over my words, sometimes mispronouncing things, unable to find the words that just seem to come to me when I'm alone at a keyboard. In person, I just can't quite express what I intend to. It's like I'm a shadow of my true self sometimes. I wonder if this is a common thing with writers?

I’m exactly the same. And I wonder about this as well. It always feels so singular. I talk to other writers who speak of being quite gregarious in person, who don’t get what I am talking about at all in this respect. Interestingly, they are all men, so I can’t help but wonder if there is something there. My sample size is admittedly small, but male writers in my experience are very charming creatures, regardless of the arena in which their charm plays out.
