Akra, female dragonborn barbarian.
I didnβt know a lot about this character going into the commission.Β It was to be a gift from the client to his girlfriend for her birthday / first D&D campaign!Β Β
Because of that, a lot of the questions/design choices that are usually made throughout the process were left on the safer side to try and avoid creating a character that was too specific and might not resemble what she had in mind.
All-in-all a lot of fun to work on!

Rough sketch -> Clean Lines -> Local Colour reference -> Armour render -> Jacket Render
I try and send updates through the process so if there are any major issues ( Ex.Β βThe armour was supposed to be blue!β /Β βIt would be cooler if the (x) were more like (y)β ) are caught as early as possible.

Second design pass for a new commission, based off of the feedback on the thumbnails I posted previously.Β Β
Eliminated some designs that werenβt working for the character and combined elements that she did like!
I think sheβs leaning closer to gypsy/sorceress at this point, maybe a dash of rogue in there.Β Looking forward to more feedback from the client to finalize the design.
Little by little, inch by inch, whenever I get some time to work on this commission.
