but hi! ive mentioned aspenstar’s dynasty sooorrrt of a little bit but, as you all know, yellowstar is the fourth leader in a line of kin that started with aspenstar. when aspenstar came to rise (before even cormorantstar became a leader, it was a while ago, tho cormorant was most likely born during the tail end of aspens reign. im still working on the exact timeline but hffhddsf), windclan was going through some pretty hard difficulties and it was so bad to the point that a lot of windclan warriors thought that their clan would end up dissolving before aspenstar’s reign was over. however, once aspenstar became a leader, she put a lot of effort and work into her clan and started rebuilding from the ground up. she was actually a really really effective and efficient leader, and although she was kinda goal-orientated and focused a lot on her work, she was still really compassionate and on good terms with her warriors. she was kind of like burdockstar, honestly? a very serious and hard working molly, but still kind at heart (even if she could be a bit awkward socially) and well-liked by her clan. she was so adored by her clanmates that a lot of them really wanted aspenstar to name her daughter, Firwhisker, as the next deputy - which, aspenstar actually did, after she and firwhisker went through an extensive training process to get firwhisker ready for leadership. she completed her training just in time for aspenstar’s first deputy to retire due to old age, and firwhisker was named deputy. eventually all good things come to an end and aspenstar passed away, moving the leadership title to fircloud, now named Firstar. 

Firstar was a good leader just like her mother and, as the clan encouraged her to do, she even had two kits of her own - Salmonclaw and Thriftnose. salmonclaw was shaping up to be a great leader on their own as well, while thriftnose went on to have his own son, Graypelt. tragedy struck towards the end of Firstar’s leadership when both she and her two kits were taken by humans by a family of explorers. there was no hope for the return of the leader and her kits, especially because humans so rarely visited this area it was doubtful they’d be returned. they waited for nearly a week, kinda just being ordered around by the seer at the time, before eventually windclan decided that since graypelt was the only kin of aspenstar left, he should be made leader and then continue the bloodline on.

plumfang, who was a deputy at this time, was really vocal about her support of Wisteriastorm, another windclan warrior at the time who was absolutely excellent in her duties, whereas graypelt was uhhhh adequate at best :/ . there was controversy in windclan at this time bc a group of cats actually also supported wisteriastorm, but wisteriastorm didnt want to cause a civil war in windclan so she just swallowed her pride and kept working as a windclan warrior. the lack of plumfang’s support of graystar though was the root between her and graystars rivalry. 

The founders of the mountain clans! After a catastrophic earthquake destroyed the lake territories and shattered the original five clans, the remainder of them came together to go on a second Great Journey. Along the way, three cats rose to become the leaders of the new clans.

Sorrelstar: Originally the deputy of Thunderclan, then named Sorrelfoot, he was kind, helpful and tried to see the good in everyone. He spent the journey coming to terms with his many personal issues; these included bad blood with his brother Pinetail who grew up in Skyclan and guilt over the deaths of his mate Quailheart and young daughter Mistlekit. He was the first to claim a home for his Clan, and the last of the founders to die.

Shardstar: Once a Tribe Prey-hunter named Shard of White Stone, Shardstar was sent to Clan territory with a small patrol in response to an omen the Stoneteller was given. It said that the cats who had helped them seasons before were in need of aid, and those who would be sent would not return. Shardstar took to Clan life hesitantly, and preserved the ways of the Tribe by building a Clan on the mountainside and teaching the cats everything he and his tribemates knew. RiftClan holds these traditions to this day.

Ivystar is very resourceful, a quick thinker. He’s not very calm in bad situations though, which can spread to panic.

Aspenstar’s faith gives him hope, and he’s great with speeches and keeping the hope alive within the clan. Though, his faith can also blind him from lies.

Dawnstar is commanding and earns herself great respect. She would put herself on the frontline for her clan and is willing to take risks. Though this leaves her uncaring towards outsiders and brutal at times.
