My favorite thing about multilingualism is that you can borrow a phrase from another language that just sounds better and more appropriate there. That is to say, some languages have a deeper meaning for a certain thing, word, verb or phrase than your mother tongue. For instance, there is a thing we say in Tunisian to express that " it's none of my business" about a situation, we say " esh 'mdakhalni (ena) " but it sounds a little rude and disrespectful, even though there are no bad words involved but maybe the cultural norms make it sound rude in our unconscious because apparently we are supposed to care lol. Whereas, the Turkish language has a cuter lighter way to convey the same meaning that is "bana ne" that would be literally translated into " what is in it for me ? " but used to say that I don't care about that thing or situation because it doesn't involve me or it is not related to me aka it's none of my business and honestly it's my favorite thing to say especially now that I am trying to stay lowkey, away from drama and mind my own business, amen.
