Is it all right for me to use your art as my phone background? 😊
Suree!! And thanks for asking <3
Out of curiosity, how are you setting up your portfolio? What kind of things are you including in it?
It really depends upon what you want to specialize in. You want to be a character designer? Focus mainly on putting all sorts of character designs.
For instance, I want to work in storyboarding and environmental illustration. So storyboard samples, background designs, or conceptual landscapes that tells a story, is what I’m working towards. Putting some life or observational drawings from your sketchbook can help as well.
I like that you talk about self insert! I feel like it has some sort of weird stigma attached to it for some reason??? I don't know, but it's just interesting to see how someone else thinks interacting with characters in their world would go down!
Thanks a bunch! lol, maybe its bc Oda’s world seems so much cooler than a contemporary one? Although its only being recently, the ‘self-insert’ with one piece characters has really motivated me to do life/study drawings that enables storytelling or character interactions.
