my opinion on;

character in general: Anyone who complains about how FF8 is awful because of its “emo, teen angst” from the lead character can fite me, dammit. Now, I agree, some of his wallowing in his thoughts is focused on so much that it seems a bit overdramatic, but if you make it to even the second disc after he dies, Squall starts to change his tune, and he evolves so much as a character from beginning to end.how they play them: I love this interpretation of Squall, and not just in interactions I’ve had with him! Still a bit reserved and yet warming up to Selphie’s near-constant pestering all the time, and still very much enjoyable to see on my dash. He’s helped me develop a soft spot for Squall/Aerith, too~the mun: Haven’t had much interaction lately, but still seems very kind and good to talk to when we have had the chance to do so!

Had this really been something Squall was interested in? The Astral, admittedly, didn’t know the young man very well, but stargazing hadn’t seemed like his cup of tea. But here they were, staring up at the beautiful evening. Once their eyes had gotten adjusted to the darkness, able to see more completely the glittering masses above, Scarlett easily picked out shooting stars left and right.

It happened so fast that she couldn’t even process their swift change of positions for a few moments, the wind knocked out of her lungs and making her see stars.

As much as Selphie would love to be cuddled up with Squall when they’re done with SeeD duties for the day, she doesn’t force it, usually letting him decide how close they’ll be and how much affection he’s willing to give. She won’t admit that she’s quite giddy the first few times he drapes an arm around her shoulders and pulls her close.
