Ahh, I love the picture that you’re talking about!! You’re absolutely right that Jaebum adores the 2pm members and is close with them, and I love how possessive Youngjae seems in the selca they all took together!

Like seriously, Youngjae really is clinging onto Jaebum so much more than usual, and I can’t help thinking that he probably claimed that spot next to Jaebum and clung to him so tightly in order to keep a 2pm member from being too close, haha! Jaebum being near his 2pm hyungs really does seem to have brought out an appearance of Jealous Youngjae.

That picture also reminds me a lot of the selca of GOT7 and Gu Bon-gil from after the GOT7′s Hard Carry Episode! 

Youngjae might not be hugging Jaebum quite as possessively in this picture, but it still amuses me because, during the episode, Jackson and Jaebum were teammates and kept getting super excited and hugging and playing around a lot, and I can’t help but wonder if that has something to do with Youngjae being more clingy here than he usually is! I mean, even if he doesn’t have his arms wrapped all around Jaebum… I still want to take a moment to appreciate the way his hand is gripping Jaebum’s shoulder!

Ahh, even though Youngjae isn’t usually too overly obvious about his affection for Jaebum, there are some moments where he just can’t seem to help himself! I just love the way certain things really do highlight Youngjae’s possessive side when it comes to his Jaebum hyung!!

I KNOW!! Like, I’m normally not a huge promoter of dynamics where one person gets dominated or controlled by another… BUT WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO NOW?? Youngjae’s out here telling everyone he likes being controlled and actively volunteering to be ordered around, and all I can think about is the way Jaebum described Youngjae as someone who follows him well and seems to be submissive ( x )… and then all the examples of Youngjae doing just that!

I mean, I just think about how quickly he melted into Jaebum’s grip during the Extremely Close Interview and went along with what Jaebum wanted… ( x )

As usual, of course…

And then with how willingly and easily he followed Jaebum and how quietly and contentedly he went along during their date when Jaebum was leading him… ( x x )

And then how willingly he does things when Jaebum wants him to!! ( x x x x  )

Like, even if he playfully complains, he’s always so willing to go along with whatever Jaebum wants??? And Jaebum knows it, and it makes him so pleased. I mean…

Jaebum absolutely knew what Youngjae was going to choose as his favorite activity, and I bet he was just waiting for the chance to ask this publicly… 

2jae are such a confusing and disorienting mess because for all that they act really shy with each other 90% of the time and tend to keep their interactions to heart eyes and quiet, subtle flirting… they also have an obsession with really blatant displays of possessiveness and declarations ( x x x x ), and I can’t help seeing Jaebum’s teasing of Youngjae during the Close Interview as yet another example of that trend!!

It’s a bit difficult to easily answer this because, well honestly, I have no way of knowing if they were ever actually together to begin with or had anything to take a break from! As much as I love the idea of 2jae together and as many things as I see that make me think there might be something going on... it’s only my thoughts!

However! As far as my opinion goes, I don’t think there was ever a very long period of time where I didn’t see 2jae doing some of the things that make me think of their relationship as something special! I know that a lot of people disagree with me because 2jae are very quiet and subtle about the way they show their affection and connection most of the time, and it can be easy to miss some of their interactions... but the quietness of it is part of what I love about their closeness anyway! They usually don’t make it into much of a performance, so it feels more real and personal to me... like the one really cute moment that happened offstage when they didn’t seem to be aware of people watching and recording them and were just being so adorable together!

That said, there have been short periods of time where the sometimes seem more distant from each other than usual... but whether they’re friends or even if they ARE in some kind of relationship, that could happen even if they just had a disagreement, without them having a break~

In any case, even though it can sometimes be a little difficult to see, I think that there are many signs that 2jae, in whatever form their relationship is, has been alive and well from debut until now!!

I absolutely agree that Youngjae’s Instagram post for Jaebum’s birthday is a beautiful sign of him showing affection for his favorite hyung! He really is so shy about showing his real emotions about things, and he doesn’t tend to be cheesy or sappy as much as Jaebum when in public… but the fact that he rarely uses his Instagram and yet still used it to post about Jaebum’s birthday (by sharing a predebut 2jae selca!!) really does show how much he cares and how alive 2jae is lately!!

I mean, they might never be as prone to fanservice and “couple moments” as they once were or as much as other members are when they play around (or… y’know… be Markjin…), but I feel like they’ve been becoming more and more comfortable being close and intimate in public again lately, especially since their Hard Carry date!

I kind of mentioned it before, but I really can’t shake the feeling that being able to act all close and affectionate with the excuse of the cameras helped them to relax a lot about the way they act with each other instead of being so shy all the time and acting like they’re afraid they’re going to give something away every time they look at each other! (Which, actually… is a valid fear. x x x ) I mean, let’s not forget that this is also the era in which this happened!

2jae has definitely been alive and thriving lately, and even if those two instances can mostly be attributed to Jaebum, Youngjae’s Instagram post proves that it’s not just one sided!! At the very least, (if not to go so far as to claim that 2jae are publicly declaring a relationship…) they are definitely proving how biased they are towards each other through the increase in skinship and intimacy, through the things they say ( x x x ), and now through the things they post! (Though… I still think that Youngjae has been using his Instagram posts to talk about his love for Jaebum for a while ( x x x )… but that’s just me being a trash can!)

2jae have always had so much love for each other, and they’ve always been so incredibly close, but they got shy about showing a lot of their closeness for a while, and Youngjae is still more skittish about open affection than he used to be ( x x )… but he still loves his Jaebumie-hyung so much in his own ways, and it’s so beautiful to see him showing it so clearly once again!!

Ahh, the true ender of friendships! Disbelief in 2jae! Ahaha, kidding, kidding~ Please don’t dislike your friend because of a disagreement in shipping!

Though… to be honest, I do understand the feeling! I certainly don’t expect everyone to ship 2jae, and it honestly still surprises me sometimes how many people do, but I still feel a pain in my heart when people deny the existence of 2jae! They might not share a romantic love outside of my imagination, but the love and connection that they share is still very real, and it does sadden me at times to see people acting like it doesn’t exist at all just because they aren’t as showy and extra about their affections and interactions as others are! Personally, I just don’t see how anyone can dismiss how much they care about one another…

.. just because they aren’t always obvious. But at least we have each other for support and in order to share our love for these boys and their love together! My silly 2jae trash is FAR from perfection, but I’m glad that my posts allow us to appreciate 2jae together!
