i actually really enjoy the concept of mafuyu and ena dating after graduating. as it is right now there’s not much romantic tension between them (assuming we’re being canon-compliant here. hey. im not THAT delusional) so i think it would be really sweet if they realized their feelings for each other once niigo starts to meet less and less due to how busy everyone is…
ive also really liked the idea of mafuyu confessing first because i think ena would bottle up her feelings (maybe not in other ships but for mafuyu i think ena would definitely think mafuyu is out of her league and refuse to even try). and in mafuyu fashion, she researches romance advice once they get together. i like the idea of mafuyu initiating their first kiss too. what can i say… i love mafuyu giving ena princess treatment (as close to that as mafuyu can manage)…
in college IMO they’d be that nonchalant couple who no one really knows about because both of them are quite private about it. so greedy!! they only want each other for themselves!!!
i like thinking of mafuyu being really independent at this point. maybe she has her own apartment or maybe she got one with ena, assuming both of their universities are in tokyo (though i love the idea of them going to the same one…). so she has a car! and ena makes mafuyu be her fancy chauffeur and mafuyu can’t argue because that’s her girlfriend and the internet says it’s not good to say she’s wrong. HAHA
at this point in their lives they’re each other’s break from the monotony of daily life~ mafuena scheduled weekend dates has been canon in my head for what feels like years now. mafuyu gets really fussy if they skip a week à la sheldon cooper because she needs her quality time. i want them to go on stupid dates! an arcade date where mafuyu demolishes ena at every single game they play (especially the sports-related ones), a picnic date where ena gets bitten by a hundred mosquitoes, a painting date where they paint each other and have their canvases framed… all those corny things. i want mafuyu and ena to be happy and in love and really corny. i know they have it in them.
sometimes it’s hard for me to really get a good grasp of the nuances of their characters despite knowing them for so long but i try to keep their dynamic interesting because that’s really the main appeal of mafuena… they’re opposites that complement each other in the best way. like old times, they bring out the worst in each other and that’s cathartic to them. they still bicker just as much, always instigated by ena!cheesy shit like that.. they’re such a unique pairing in terms of how we get to explore their characters when they’re together. the whole is really worth more than the sum of its parts. i love love love mafuena
