Just wondering what the state of your inbox was since I sent a few asks a while ago and you haven't answered them yet? No rush or anything! I kind of figured you were busy and I didn't want to send them again and swamp you with *even more* asks lol
Pretty slow to be honest, but I don't want to set the precedent that I answer every ask that comes through because I will not be. Generally assume if your ask is not answered:
1- I found the content inappropriate.
There tends to be waves where people send extremely triggering content related to things like severe mental health disorders.
There are also still some people who misgender characters in asks. Those get auto deleted.
There are also people who send shady asks where I can't parse out the intention. For example, there are still people who send asks trying to get Abusive!MC questions answered. Not only do I find this inappropriate, I've already answered that Abusive!MCs for any of the games won't last long. So it's already been answered.
Another example of a shady one recently is someone trying to imply Vivere having romantic attraction to someone who looks like a child when in fact, looking childlike would not encourage romantic feelings in him at all. I get that it might be a language barrier thing preventing them from just saying 'cute', which is why I haven't blocked them. I'm never going to let those asks see the light of day, and if they keep happening, I am going to block them.
2- I've answered the ask before/felt I had nothing else to add to it.
Since the games go through random spikes of higher downloads, sometimes we get a wave of new people who don't look through the blog before sending in an ask that I've already answered.
It could also be that I didn't answer the ask like directly, but I've done enough similar asks that the content should be assumed. See the above Abusive!MC example. That was a type of question that came up frequently around VV's release when Violo's relationship with Heimos began to be sniffed out. I've already answered it in detail.
3- I'm holding onto it for later.
Biggest example of this is the Yandere Alphabet. I got a lot repeat letters, so I'm waiting to see if they get any non-repeat letters before doing a bulk post.
Sometimes I also save asks because I want to be in the right mood to post them. For example, for a while, I held onto a lot of modern!AU asks and bulk posted them when I felt like talking about AUs
It could also be an ask that discusses a spoiler that I'm saving for when the spoiler is public.
4- Tumblr ate it.
If you send a submission and I don't see it. Chances are tumblr ate it. This happens a lot with fanart.
5- Someone violated the rules and kept sending me the same ask over and over.
So they're blocked. End of story. The anti-spam rule is there for a reason. If I didn't have it, I'd still have that one genshin fan account sending me the exact same Venti ask every day.
So in general, I don't answer every single ask that I get immediately. I may never answer them at all. I may get to them eventually. I think I literally held onto one ask for like half a year to 8 months before.
Recently, I've only been answering simple ones that I can respond to pretty quickly because I've been sick (fuckin COVID) + slammed with the work I do to pay the bills. I'm only answering this one in detail because I know I've had a spike of new followers and want to reiterate the ask box rules again.
These rules are nothing personal/targeted. It's just how I preserve my sanity while also allowing for a space for fans to engage with me directly since I'm not really anywhere else (I barely use bluesky. I don't use twitter/insta/etc).
