The pit in Von’s stomach only seemed to grow as he lead his troops toward their first meeting point.  Sunrise was fast approaching and yet his excitement, his anticipation for this day...one would easily be able to see the stress on his body from just how hard he was trying to keep this secret from his lover.  This plan of action.  He knew she was going to be beyond angry, but once all was said and done...it would be more than just ‘worth it’ to him.

“Are you alright?” Yeltz spoke as he rode up next to the man once known as Sarah Fortune’s first mate.  “You haven’t had anything to eat or drink since we left camp.  You’re sure this is still something you want to do?”  Von only gave a quiet nod as he took a drink from his canteen in response.

“It’s something you want as well correct?  The pain and suffering this man has caused for not only you and her...but for the rest of the tribe?  Maybe I am getting in a little over my head, but I’ve done worst in the Conqueror’s Sea, I can almost guarantee that.”  As stressed and tired as he looked, Von spoke with as much confidence as ever.  It was just a part of how he ran things.

He turned his body back to find Nasira not far behind him.  “Go inform Azir that we’ve almost reached Nasus’ library.  I’d offer to say more, but even I know he doesn’t need luck or any sort of good wishes.  Nor would he want them from me.” He gave a small sigh soon after, as the woman nodded and rode off to find her emperor.

“The fact that you still trust her...trust him even,” Yeltz spoke again as Nasira left the rest of the group, “Why?”

“Family important to me.  And if I have a man whose incredibly powerful disliking me due to not being royalty?  Let’s just say I have a knack for wanting to prove people wrong when they deserve it.  If he thinks I’m not worthy of his ancestor’s love, I’ll prove him wrong.  I know I shouldn’t care...but there’s just something that makes me want to.” Von’s look of determination in his eyes were as apparent as ever as they approached their destination.

This day would come to be one of the most important in his life.  And he knew that.

Like liquid gold, the Udjat collapses through his fingers, pools on the floor. Almost like a sentient pile of ants, it climbs and forms little towers, melts and twists about to form an outline of the ancient Shuriman emperor— Azir, He Who Shines. “Explorer,” The facsimile of the Emperor greets him with as much warmth as he can, his harmonious voice carrying across the distance. He was in Shurima and rebuilding as was his wont— the image that stood before Ezreal was but a projection, a sending of its master. He did not think it proper to enter Piltover without an invitation. “To what do I owe the pleasure?” wasn't actually expecting it to be so easy, and at the sudden emergence of the emperor's projection,

A small gasp part's Ezreal's lips, and for a few seconds, he doesn't answer, and the silence permeates the room as though it were something solid rather than just an absence of noise. If he's being honest, he wasn't actually expecting it to be so easy, and the sudden emergence of the emperor's projection catches him a bit off-guard, though he quickly inhales, filling his lungs with the air needed to speak.

"...what do you do when you know you have to do something but it makes you so uneasy and so uncomfortable you find yourself unable to uncover the bravery to do it?" he asks, though it seems like he's mostly talking to himself rather than Azir. With a lazy grunt, the explorer leans up against one of the walls for support, his leather-clad shoulder digging into the corner. He looks frighteningly pitiful.
