This is SOKAMUTURRA, a tradition that takes place in many small towns of the Basque Country (North Spain). As you can see young bulls are tortured in it, forced to run around the streets full of young highly alcoholized people, stressed out, afraid and falling down because of the slipery floor. The rope is used to stop from harming seriously anyone or to make them back to the truck. Me and my mates at ASKEKINTZA are trying to stop this kind of festivitys and we have just launched a campaing called "FESTAK OSPATU ANIMALIAK ASKATU" which means, in Basque, "party hard, free the animals". We are going to try to stop all the traditional festivals that torture animals, or at least expose them, duting all summer. If you can share the video or our facebook page that would be really helpfull. https://www.facebook.com/askekintza Let the people know how some Basques have fun! FESTAK OSPATU ANIMALIAK ASKATU!
