How could Ellington be Widdershins classmate? Do you think it's possible that she got involved with VFD after ATWQ?
Ellington is last seen with Kit Snicket, presumably trying to escape from the police. She would have nowhere to go after that⊠Given that she fits the criteria of VFDâs recruitment policies (orphaned, sneaky, determined, intelligent), Iâm sure that Kit could recommend her for a VFD apprenticeship. It would however take a lot to convince Ellington to join the organization that influenced Lemonyâs mindset, however. The jury is out on that one.
Even if she didnât attend a VFD school with Widdershins, itâs still possible they knew each other before ATWQ. We donât know where he comes from, so he could have gone to Killdeer Fieldsâ middle school back when Ellington was still living with her father, I suppose.
There are a lot of blanks into most charactersâ lives which allow these kinds of speculations without outrightly contradicting the canonical material, but itâs still fanfiction at this point.

Did Armstrong Feint cross paths with V.F.D. before he came to Stainâd-by-the-Sea?A: One should remember that the Baudelairesâ experience with V.F.D. occurred when the organization was in a much more fragmentary state than it was at the time of All The Wrong Questions. I prefer to think that Ellington, in her search for her father, brushed up against other young people on desperate searches.
