/whispers Namixi and Kainami asd;lkjf
THESE ARE BOTH KINDA NEW TO ME ACTUALLY and I feel like I have no right to actually ship NamiXi because I still haven't watched Days. I didn't even realize they actually had a scene together until I wandered into the Xion tag the other day 8T But they SEEM like they'd be super adorable together. Almost like a muted version of the invented Kolette dynamic my brain keeps. Xion wanting to be a hero and save the girl and Namine holdin' out for a hero til' the morning's light. Nami bein' all wise when Xion angsts, and Xion being all protective when Nami angsts, and both of them being kind of quietly intense but in slightly different ways that I suck at explaining. Like how silk and velvet can both be described as smooth but we all know they're totally different. Oh shit now I'm going to just think of them as white silk and black velvet forevermore.
I don't think I actually ship Kainami too seriously. They seem more BFFy to me. Like probably the super duper close "people mistake us for a couple and we don't care" kind of BFFs, but idk my brain just kinda shrugs at anything beyond that.
He understood. She knew when he said her name. When she was pulled away, she simply nodded in response, unable to talk properly as her sobbing was threatening to worsen again. And it did, once he kissed the side of her head and said he'd miss her as well. "You... You take care'a yerself," she mumbled into his shoulder, trying to feign a scolding voice. "Understand?"
He couldn’t help but smile. She was trying to act tough for him and it worked for the most part. He nodded and pulled away so he could look her in the eyes. “I will. And you be careful too." He gave her another smile, as genuine as he could, and squeezed her shoulder before she left.
Being in the man's embrace felt nice. It's been a while since she felt such warmth. Three longs years have gone by for the puppet, and it seems like her body wasnt made to last this long. She was quickly losing strength, as well as warmth. Snuggling closer to Xaldin, she felt herself get calmer by the second, but the question distressed her again. "I wont..." She took a shaky breath before continuing. "I-I d-dont think I'll come back, Xal..."
Not coming back? That didn’t make any sense. He turned his head to look at the black hair as she snuggled in closer to him seeking the warmth he could feel her losing. Was she- fading? “Xion?" he said softly, his hand resting on her head. He reached over and placed a kiss on the side of her head, holding it there for a moment and then pulling back to continue hugging her. “I’ll miss you too."
Remaining silent except for the hiccupy breaths for a moment, Xion was even more upset by the question. She didn't know where she'll end up. It was fun and exciting when she did random World-Hopping, when she had no set destination in mind but she knows she'll end up in a cool new World. But now... Is there even a place for her to end up in? Is there even a Next Life for puppets? "I dunno..." She eventually responded, clutching Xal tighter.
With a soft sigh he patted the girl’s head softly. He wasn’t used to this comforting thing, he wasn’t even sure if he was doing it right, but Xion seemed to be calming down at least. “Alright, that’s fine. You know you can always come to me if you need anything right?" He spoke in a low and soft tone with her, making sure not to sound too worried for her well being.

The sobs immediately came as soon as the man's form appeared behind the opened door. For the first few seconds, she tried to hold back her sniffs, but by the time Xaldin had placed a comforting hand on her shoulder she broke down. Frail arms reached out and wrapped impeccably tight around the man's broad shoulders as she sobbed into his neck. "I-I... I'll miss y-you, Xal..."
Shocked at the sudden hug, Xaldin was stunned for a moment as the girl cried into his shoulder. Slowly his arms wrapped around her and returned the hug. He rubbed her back slowly trying to calm her. “It’s alright… where are you going? I’ll still be here."
The raven-haired child stood in front of the Lancer's bedroom door, arms crossed over her chest as if clutching herself tightly. She tried to take deep breaths yet they came out shaky and shallow, her whole frame almost shivering in uneasiness. It took a long while, but she finally had the courage to lift a hand and rap her knuckles against the door. Part of her wished he wasn't here at the moment. Making him worry wasn't something she liked, but she's already here, so... "Xaldin...?"
Resting the pages on his desk, Xaldin stood up and went to the door after hearing the knock. He wondered who would be visiting him and slowly opened the door. The small form of Xion stood in his doorway, hugging herself and shaking in her boots. Surprised, he opened the door all the way and bent down in front of her. “Xion?" he asked as he reached out a hand to place on her shoulder.
It's been a couple of minutes already and the girl was still hesitating, a balled fist raised slightly in front of her, getting ready to knock on the boy's bedroom door. She let a few more silent minutes pass by before she finally had the courage to knock and call out for the boy. "H-hey, Vani..."
A soft knocked disrupted Vanitas from the small leather book he had been writing in. Setting down the pen, he rose from his bed and slunk over to the door. The boy had a feeling it was XIon- after all, who else called him Vani and wanted to perhaps speak with him. The list was a very short one, with one name- Xion.
He opened the door, leaning an elbow against the wall as his gold eyes took in the small form of the dark haired girl.
"Yes?" he asked, curiosity tinging his voice.
