Can I ask why Joltik day is 8/26? I can't seem to work out the significance of the number. ^^' If Maths is involved its no wonder, haha.
Of course you can! Joltik day (or more precisely bachuru day) is a goroawase (where you read numbers as syllables…. each number has several syllables it ‘reads’ as for various reasons), as most of these “days" are in Japan (fun fact, today, 8/2, is Pants Day/Panties Day). One way to “read" 8-2-6 is Ba-Chu-Ru so there we go! Joltik day! :D (also can be read as pa-zu-ru, in case you want to observe Puzzle Day and make a Joltik Puzzle)Â

Lau:// I feel like I should step in and explain... Hotaru was born in the early days before Unova was localised, therefore he was born a Bachuru. As he grew up, Unova was localised and the name Joltik came about. Hotaru was still young, and with people calling him Joltik, he simply picked up the name, picking up the speech patterns with it. He doesn't remember ever being Bachuru in his normal state, but this baby magic seems to have brought something back. The "Chuu" isn't Pikachu, it's BaCHUru. He'll be back to his normal tik self when the magic lets up~
