Worldbuilding questions! In your world... What is education like? Is it private or public teaching? Are there schools? Are the topics taught more general or more specialized? | What is common for modes of transportation? What do most people use and what is reserved for those of higher classes/more wealth? | What is typically seen as attractive? What natural features and what artificial features? What personality traits?
Ayyyooo I actually didn’t think you’d still be doing this! Thank you :)
Education:
So education before the Patrians invaded was usually done by the family if you were in the same trade as them, but different career paths required proper education, and so those paths would be taught by an known expert in that field in a school/monastary or apprentice style. These schools or apprenticeships would be specialized to the type of skill set you’d need for your job, as well as a side of ethics and morals involved with the career field. (It’s based off of and similar to the guru style of teaching in ancient India) After the Patrians invaded, they set up convent schools, which is the only method of education they’d accept for any of their jobs. Convent schools are private schools and you must pay to get in. Convent schools are in the american style (generalized until higher education where you would then get vocational training.)
Transportation:
Most people go on foot. If you’re going farther, most people hitch a ride with merchants and such. If you’re of wealth, you usually go in horses or caravans. Before the Patrians invaded and there was still Janapadhan royalty, (generally female) royalty went in palanquins. If you’re of Patrian wealth, you go in horse drawn carriages.
Attractiveness:
Patrians prefer slimmer girls of narrow waists and properly pale skin, and men with straight features, both similar to Regency beauty standards. Janapadhans prefer defined waists and big eyes in women, as well as delicate hands or feet. In men, they prefer intense eyes, and strength, as well as curly hair.
