I took a little piano growing up, but I wasnāt great at it. The room I played in was always so cold and it was so boring to sit there for hours and just keep drilling these boring practice tunes over and over, not getting any better at them. Iļø learned a few pop songs and folk tunes to play around the house and- even though my mom would cringe because I inevitably played a stray note or got a chord wrong- these were the most fun for me, especially when family was over and people had a little booze in them and would sing along. I dunnoā¦ I always preferred music to feel like it was living, and life is kinda always a little inherently messy. Yknow? Thatās where the heart is: in the imperfections, because- when things arenāt perfect- thatās when they give you a chance to love them.
