Back with an ask! This one should be fun, I hope. As always, your writing is amazing!
Can I get Sidon with a gn reader who just beats the shit outta the Lynel on Shatterback Point? Maybe they never bothered with it before but one day it shoots a shock arrow a little too close to Fish Prince for comfort and they just march up there and whoop it? It makes me laugh imagining just stomping up there with the same energy as an abuela with a chancla so I'd love to see it with your god tier writing.
"What do you think is making Vah Ruta act up this time?"
"I'm really not sure, Y/N. Hopefully we will be able to get her back into top shape soon, though," Sidon answers, bending down to pick up another shock arrow. Shatterback Point is littered with them after the most recent disposal of the Lynel, but there is one thing that neither you nor Sidon accounted for.
The Blood Moon.
Sidon does not look up at first once the sky begins to darken, thinking it is a passing cloud. You see it before he does and lightly tug on his arm. When he looks up, you hear him utter a word he rarely says, being that it is hardly decent for a prince. He would've never let it slip, had he not been comfortable with you. He carefully tucks the arrows that he has gathered away and steels himself, unsure of what to do. He'll be thinking of your safety first, of course, but you're only thinking of his.
"Sidon, we have to get out of here," you whisper. He would not reveal what happened to the Lynel earlier. Sidon probably killed it himself, but you know he is especially vulnerable to lightning. And the last thing you want is for your prince to get hurt. "Run!"
Before either of you can get very far, there is a loud zap and a flash of green as an arrow flies near the prince's leg. Sidon jumps out of the way in time. Turning, you see the Lynel taking aim once more, this time for Sidon's chest. Sidon is pulling out his trident, bracing himself for a fight.
He tells you to hurry on without him; he'll catch up, but you have no intention of doing any such thing. You bend down to pick up a stone that looks heavy. It won't be enough, but it's most convenient at the moment. You toss it, aiming right for the Lynel's head. It moves out of the way just in time, adding to your ire.
"HEY! Asshole! Over here!" you scream at the beast, startling both it and Sidon before it can shoot again. The Lynel turns his focus to you, his breath appearing as small clouds from his nostrils in the chilly air as you pick up another stone.
"Oh, Y/N, don't!" Sidon shouts, running toward you.
The Lynel growls and makes eye contact with you before shooting at Sidon again, which only pisses you off more. Thankfully, moving targets are a challenge for him, and the arrow only strikes a tree.
You had intended to throw the stone, but emboldened by the Lynel's challenge, you sprint toward it with a yell, the stone in hand, and pound it right in the face. "Did you hear me?" you ask it. "I - SAID - OVER - HERE!" With each shouted word, you pound it again, the beast snarling in protest and surprise.
Sidon stands where you previously were, watching with a look of awe.
The Lynel reaches for you, and you dodge out of the way and mount it from behind. Taking advantage of the beast's shock, Sidon calls your name and tosses his trident to you. You catch it effortlessly, fueled by your adrenaline. You've never used one before, but it isn't hard to figure out. It charges for Sidon as you beat the hell out of it, but the prince backflips out of the way. It bucks wildly, and you drop the trident as you try to hang on. Sidon sweeps in and grabs the weapon before the beast can as it knocks you off.
You can feel the world spinning as you roll on the ground, probably getting dirt and grass stains all over your clothing, but you don't care.
"Y/N, roll left!" Sidon tells you, and you do without hesitation so that the Lynel's axe only hits the ground with a thud that feels like it shakes the whole mountain. You pick up another stone and throw it, hitting it right in the nose. Quickly, you repeat the action and keep it up until the Lynel roars and charges at you, with Sidon pulling you out of the way before you can be trampled.
It makes you angry that you need help.
"Why won't you die?" you breathe as it turns toward you again, its breath forming visible clouds. But it looks worse for the wear - much worse. Its movements are slowing down considerably.
You ball up your fist. "I said - WHY - WON'T - YOU - DIE?"
You punch it directly on the nose, then on the side of its face as its eyes roll back in its head. It starts to stagger on its feet, and Sidon hands you the trident so that you can deliver the death blow. You do, with one final battle cry, and the beast is finished. So is your hand, you realize, as you sink to the ground and cradle it in your non-dominant one.
"Y/N!" Sidon is next to you in a flash, crouching to look at you. "Oh, Y/N, your poor hand. Darling, are you alright?"
"I . . ." you pause, staring at your kill. "That was a rush. I want to go again."
Sidon chuckles. "I think there is a Moblin closer to the Domain. Not that it will be a match for you, all things considered, but maybe you should have a medic look at your hand first, eh?"
