Izuru felt the presence in his cave almost immediately. At first, he disregarded it, too deep in sleep to care. But it buzzed around like a gnat until he was forced to get up and acknowledge it. He could practically smell the fey magic wafting off whoever was trespassing and he groaned quietly. Fey were obnoxious. It was probably a fairy of some sort who found his stash and wanted something sparkly.
He got up, stretching slowly before shifting into his human form. If he was to deal with a tiny pest, being full size would be a disadvantage.
He shuffled into the area where he had felt the presence and almost immediately spotted the intruder eyeing some of his treasure. He silently approached it from behind then quickly pinned it to the wall with his hands.
He looked into the little fairy’s eyes and watched him study his captor. He saw him take in his red eyes that practically glowed, a trait he could not hide, and the unmistakable aura of power around him. Izuru was an ancient being and arcane energy practically spilled out of him to those who could see it. He was a rare creature, rarer than the humans. The little fairy didn’t seem to know who, or rather what, he was beyond the obvious magic about him.
the fairy was in a tight spot. He had been caught trespassing by a force he did not understand, and yet he chose sass and blunt rudeness.
“Do you mind?” he spat back, intentionally parroting his words. “I happened to have been sleeping before you so rudely interrupted.” Maybe that would get through to him. A little clue about what the fairy was dealing with.
