I read some theories somewhere that azor ahai and the prince that was promised are the same? but idk
They could well be! But in-text they've never said that: Azor Ahai seems to be a R'hollan thing, whereas TPTWP hasn't really been clearly defined, but seems to be linked to Valyria? I get the feeling that they're two different people (my bets are on Jon and Dany, but you never know~)
I find it weird that you describe all those things you like in a relationship and yet you ship Zutara. I mean Katara/Aang mean a lot to each other as companions and it grows into love. They have loads of simple gestures, from a comforting arm on the shoulder to a simple smile. You like respect and equality and their relationship pretty much epitomizes that. And of course they are canon with a huge amount of build-up.Just struck me as a surprise you like all those things yet you ship Zutara. You don't have to answer this, I just found it personally strange.
I suppose I forgot to mention that I'm a sucker for fire/ice ships. Like, I love them so much it's unhealthy. I'm a sucker for imagery through and through, and the idea that there's two forces, completely opposite to one another, that are drawn together by attraction or connection or comraderie is just ughhhhh it hits on all my sore spots, y'know?
In fact, pretty much the only non canon things I ship (Jon/Dany, Draco/Ginny, Zutara) all have a fire/ice thing going. So... there's that.
I've said before that I completely get Kataang, and I even sort of like them as a ship, but I'm prevented from shipping them because of my love for Zutara. I think there's a lot of build up for Zutara as well, and.... well, I could talk for a long time about Zutara, tbh.

do you ship h/hr?
What do you like in a ship? What, to you, is it that makes a couple good?
What do I like in a ship.... hmm, well I'd say that I like ships with a lot of history. Like, if two people meet and they're in a relationship two weeks later, I find it hard to ship them really deeply. I like the idea that two people (let's take Ron and Hermione for an example) mean a lot to another as friends or co workers or simply as a companion, and then it develops and grows into love, or that they discover that they've been in love for a while. Idk I just like that kind of dynamic. It feels really believable to me.
I also like ships in which touch is really important - when overt physicality is replaced with simple gestures or movements that show really deep levels of love. This happens a lot in unrequited or ~~angsty ships so i ship a lot of them too. (For my R/Hr example - I have watched the POA handgrab more times than probably anyone else in the world. I can break it down for you in essays and books, man. The perfect R/Hr movie moment bar none.)
And also, I was talking about this with bilius before - I tend to like canon ships. I think this is because I like ships that have a lot of backing in the text, because I prefer to deconstruct what's there over creating new love interests for the characters. This is pretty weird in fandom but it's the way I've always rolled~~~
As to what makes a couple good... I think there has to be a solid foundation of respect for a ship to work. Couples that are equals are always the best couples - Castle and Beckett are a good example of this. This is why I'm really conflicted shipping Chuck and Blair now - they used to be one of my favourite ships, but Chuck's late season 4 arc just ruined that for me. Once abuse is factored in I find it incredibly difficult to keep on shipping.
And there's some srs bsns shippery for you!
How do you know Klaine has proper development if you don't watch Glee?
I watched Glee until about 2x20 so
it takes a lot for me to give up on a show. Like, a lot. I watched every season of Smallville. I watched every season of ER. But I couldn't hack Glee any longer because that's how much it bothers me.
