Closeted shippers do not post any explicitly shipping content in public, so it technically shouldn't be a worry. If there is no clear indication the post is specifically shippy, it's most likely not.

It's completely okay to not want to interact with shippers even if they aren't open about it. It's important to remember that if you do ask/find out about a person whether or not they are a shipper, this information should be kept private.

Other than being shippers, many fans also focus on non-ship content and interacting with the rest of the fanbase is just as important for us as for others.
