My favorite main character has to be Carl himself. He may be a little dumb and he may be a back seater sometimes, but his character (especially during the low points) makes me very invested in him. It’s why I stray from drawing him as super super serious cause I never thought of him as those alpha bro masc dudes till I finally heard the audiobook and understood WHY.

As for side character? Tsarina Signet. I love her character and just how cliche she is as a OP protag type. There’s more but—spoilers.

Of course, these are attractive men lusted over by millions around the world. It’s easy to say ‘yes, of course I genuinely want them too’ if you’re looking from the outside, fantasizing of something out of reach. But when you’re on the inside, when you know them personally, when you consider them acquaintances, or friends, you see them more as humans and less as pieces of handsome, rich meat. You see the flaws and the imperfections, the annoying habits that drive you up the wall and think, thank god I don’t live with that guy. An outsider would only see the perfections, the corrected mistakes, the results of years of hard work; they rarely see the grime and grind underneath, the blood, sweat and tears spilt. They get the polished diamonds, sparkling and beautiful; they barely ever see the messy, dirty process of shining them.

I think that fans sometimes forget this and you just described it really well. 🥰🥰🥰🥰

Aww, I forgot I wrote this and looking back sometimes I wonder what demon possessed me to write things like this lmaooo but this is my honest true feelings. I do believe true fans see them as humans and respect them as their own individuals. But I also understand that sometimes it’s hard to NOT forget about it since they’re always so goddamn flawless HAHA 🤣

I think I also got inspired but something Namjoon (I think) spoke about not showing the process of their music making because fans would probably take it the wrong way cuz it was messy? The rejections, the thousands of corrections? The going back and forth? When they mentioned things like this is when it always hit me again how much of their struggles we were shielded from. That’s a form of love, too 🥹
