hey! i hope iām not bothering you, but do you have any tips for beginners on making cosplay? thank you!!! š
Hi! You are absolutely not bothering me! Tips for beginners on making cosplay...hmmm...Iām not sure what you mean byĀ āmakingā exactly, but here are some things!
1. Give yourself plenty of time to make the cosplay. Youāre going to make mistakes. Youāre going to have to remake parts of it. Thatās okay. Thatās normal. Donāt let that get you down! Take a deep breath and try again!
2. Make a list of all of the components of your cosplay. That helped me a LOT when I made Celica. It also makes it easier to plan when you want things done by.
3. Look up tutorials. Most of my worbla knowledge comes from tutorials my friend sent me. Pretty much anything you want to make with regards to materials you want to work with has a tutorial probably.
4. For sewing, donāt feel like you need to make a pattern from scratch right off the bat? I always find patterns that have key components to my cosplay (a dress with the right amount of panels, a coat with the right kind of collar, a vest with the correct shape in the front) and then alter it from there.
5. Ask for help! If you have any specific questions with a costume and you see that someone else has made that same thing, ask them! The worst thing that could happen is you donāt get a reply, and then you can ask someone else!
6. Donāt get discouraged! You are your own worst critic. Everyone else is going to think you look amazing.
Thatās what I can think of off the top of my head, haha. If you have any other questions about like...sewing or crafting specifically let me know! Iāve been cosplaying for a long time but Iām really only an amateur hahaha but the most important thing is to have fun!!! (But itās not cosplay if you donāt suffer a little)
