The creator has confirmed this is the origin of the name.

His canon age is 20-40, insinuating it can be anything in between that age bracket.

So my personal headcanon with Tank and Bradley is that Tank was harboring very strong but very one-sided feelings for him during the height of Bradley’s reign as Gamma king. During the events of the movie, Bradley was far too preoccupied being a selfish dictator to really consider Tank as anything more than his right hand man, but Tank’s feelings made Bradley’s eventual betrayal exceptionally hurtful to him.

Not to like… SPOIL anything that happens in my fic Cadaver Dogs, but there is definitely a conversation about this that takes place in one of the later chapters. I LOVE TANK MORE THAN AN AVERAGE AMOUNT OKAY TANK RULES 🤸‍♂️
