The Kylux fandom is not only a creative and very talented one, it’s also one of the most prolific about creating adjacent ships. If there’s a Donut then you can be sure we’ll find an Adam for him. Perhaps the most well-known are the Techienician and the Clydeland pairings, but they’re are only two of many. The possibilities are almost endless and, ultimately, these adjacent ships offer an opportunity to explore Kylux in a different way and play with the numerous universes and character constellations made possible by the actors’ diverse filmographies.

We want to encourage you to explore these adjacent ships that are almost a fandom of their own yet still intrinsically linked to Kylux. No matter how obscure the character or the ship, we want it!

This is why we’ve decided to organize the #KyluxAdjacents month to celebrate the love for all these adjacent ships.

The rules are easy! Write/draw/create something with an adjacent ship, meaning a combination of a Domhnall Gleeson and an Adam Driver character that’s not Kylux, from May 1st-31th and post it on tumblr or on twitter with the following tag: #KyluxAdjacents TL;DR: Create a fanart/fanfic/moodboard/playlist or anything else for a Kylux adjacent ship and share it with the world! Link your work on Twitter and Tumblr with the hashtag #KyluxAdjacents, and drop your fic into the AO3 collection here!  We can’t wait to see what you’ll come up with!

Within the Kylux fandom there are many adjacent ships, or ships between AD and DG’s characters from their other projects. Due to the number of characters and the creativity of the Kylux fandom the adjacents can get confusing. For that reason, @callmelyss and I (with the help/input of others!) have created an interactive map to help make them more accessible.   

Due to the nature of fandom and shipping, this map will always be an ongoing project. New ships/fics/art will be added as they are submitted.

Within the map you can: 

Click on a character dot and learn more about that character, including a brief character bio, who plays them, and a link to the source material. 

Click on a ship name/link between characters and learn about the ship, including alternate ship names, and general info about the ship. You can also find links to content related to that adjacent ship (fics and art).

Hover (not click) over a character's name on a 'ship page to see all the ships that character is a part of. 

Use the search bar to find characters, ship names, and any content on a character "page" or ship "page" (including fic titles).

Caveats: 

Ship “pages” can’t be created without names. As many of the ships don’t have “official” fandom names placeholder names were created. These are marked with a ?. These placeholder names aren’t set in stone and can be changed at any time. 

The map is not exhaustive, and some content may be left out at the creator’s request or because we aren’t aware of it yet.
