Ashkenazim Jews Flag
PT: Ashkenazim Jews Flag /end PT
ID: a flag separated in two colours with the top being white and the bottom cyan. In the middle is a peacock, with two olive branches and six branched stars around it and a Hebrew word in yellow. End ID
Designed by Reddit user crying_lotus (link), posted on r/vexillology (link).
Explanation by the creator of the flag:
ÂŤ White for benevolence. Blue for divinity & the Jewish people. Gold for the Ashkenazim. The golden peacock is a Yiddishist symbol of creativity & joy. Olive branches represent peace. The Star of David is another symbol for Judaism. The Hebrew word beneath the peacock, "hineni", roughly translates to "here I am" which is a statement of resiliency in the face of discrimination & oppression. Âť
@ashke:Â i feel like eating intuitively requires a lot of education, practice and access to healthy foods in the first place. your body wont ask for what its not used to. and you're right, our brains often misinterpret it all... for example a symptom of iron deficiency is craving sugar all the time, which does nothing for your iron levels... :/ im sure intuitive eating is great when you have the groundwork and access but its not realistic for most people to just do that
I think thatâs part of the myopia, yeah -- I think some of the biggest proponents of IE have that sort of knowledge, and thatâs why it works so well for them. (theyâre also probably neurotypical. and if they arenât, theyâve either got the resources to work around their particular pitfalls in a way that doesnât backfire, or theyâre not the flavour of ND that makes this difficult)
thatâs why I wish there was more... like, concrete and actionable information from IE talk, as well as more talk about actual nutritional science (because, letâs face it, most of us are terribly impoverished when it comes to that sort of knowledge, and it usually ainât our fault) and understanding that food restriction is not some kind of evil that has to be eradicated, but rather a process that is often taken to extremes but also often has logical roots that just have to be teased out and focused on

i'm always confused when people ask something like "how's your cold?" my cold is doing fantastic, thanks, however i'm not
my cold is doing as god intended and multiplying; i am also doing what god intended-- sufferingÂ
The answer is yes!
@dontcallmezurely asked:
I'm an aspiring writer and have always found your stories, particularly the Valdemar series, both very entertaining and very comforting. As a gay man growing up in the midwestern US, I particularly connected with Vanyel and the Last Herald Mage trilogy. When I met my boyfriend, we initially bonded over your work, and the Last Herald Mage trilogy, which he also connected to very much.
We've begun discussing marriage, and because of the importance of your work to both of us, we have been seriously considering getting married in Heraldic Whites. Because my boyfriend is a trans man, he intends to legally change his name, and because neither of us wants to make the other take our name, our plan is that he will change his last name to the new name we're going to adopt, and then I'll take that name when we marry.
My question to you is how you would feel about our using the Tayledras word for love, "Ashke," as a surname. Because of its significance to us, and the simple honesty of calling ourselves "Love," we both very much like the idea, but since it's your word and your work we would be referencing this way, we both want to be sure that you are comfortable with the idea.We're also wondering, in the absence of a pronunciation guide, how the word "Ashke" is pronounced.
I'm more than comfortable with the idea; I am incredibly flattered by it. Â "Ashke" actually means "beloved," and is pronounced ash-kay.
