Riko: You never really know what’ll happen in summer.

Riko: As fast as a stick of ice cream melts, as fast as a bottle of ginger ale goes warm,

Riko: Summer had arrived in front of us, bringing with it all kinds of fun times, but also some not so fun times.

Riko: That’s what makes summer so great. Yeah, that’s why...

Riko: That’s why I love summer.

In the living room: Morning.

Mahoro: Mornin’.

Riko: Good morning! You’re up early today. But I guess you don’t sleep in on days when we have work.

Mahoro: Is this a surprise to you? I do what I have to. Oh, are you making breakfast?

Riko: Mhm. Thought I’d fry some bacon and eggs.

Riko: The day of that special remote broadcast we’re guesting on is finally here. Gotta make sure I’ve got enough energy, right?

Mahoro: I guess it is something different. It’s at that special event venue down in Odaiba, right? There’s going to be a live audience and everything. And it’s a radio show, so I’m sure you’re excited.

Mahoro: Oh, fry two eggs for me too while you’re at it, would you?

Riko: Can’t you do it yourself?

Mahoro: Come on, you’re already frying some anyway.

Riko: Oh, fine.

Mahoro: Wait, where are Miharu and Aya?

Riko: They went ahead to the office to get their makeup done. Wanted to get there an hour earlier than we do.

Mahoro: Oh right, we were doing our makeup in the office today, huh?

Riko: Yup yup. They said we gotta do it there.

Mahoro: Hmm. I guess the venue wouldn’t have a big enough backstage area for it.

Mahoro: Oh, I just remembered.

Mahoro: Two days ago, Miharu said she wanted to get a car to cross Rainbow Bridge with, right? Whatever happened to that? [1]

Riko: Well, we did get a car!

Riko: It was too last-minute to get a rental car, but yesterday I managed to borrow one of the cars from work.

Mahoro: How...resourceful of you.

Riko: Well, we didn’t have much choice left... But Miharu’s idea sounds fun, so I really wanted to do it.

Riko: ...Ahh!

Mahoro: What? What is it? What are you “Ahh”ing about?

Riko: You asked for two eggs, but there’s only one left...

Riko: This was only the start of that troublesome summer day.

Riko: That missing egg for Mahoro was only the beginning...
