William stole my heart almost 26 years ago and never gave it back.

I was 16, and I remember it as if it were yesterday.

I’ve spent hours quoting his lines, I’ve ridden my horse shouting “CHAARGE!” pretending to be his female counterpart, using my whip as if it were a sabre.

He will always hold a special place in my heart.

He is not just a “favourite character” or a villain.

He represents emotion, tragic beauty, and a story that has never stopped fascinating me.

My wish is to find one of the original screen-used costumes, or anything that truly belonged to him.

Because to me, it represents a story and a connection that has lived with me for almost 26 years.

That is why I continue searching, even knowing how difficult and unlikely this quest truly is.

In a quiet church, surrounded by candlelight and whispered promises.

His hand slipping the ring onto my finger.

Our first kiss as husband and wife.

Golden fields where we walked hand in hand.

Sunsets on the beach where he lifted me as though I weighed nothing.

Passionate kisses that made the rest of the world disappear.

And then… laughter.

The kind that fills an entire room as I dragged him toward our bedroom.

His cheerful thumbs-up. My uncontrollable giggles.

And at the end of it all…

me falling asleep on his chest, safe in his arms,

while he looked at me as though I were the only thing he would ever need.

This is the life we were always meant to live.

Not just in dreams.

Not just in fragments.

But forever.

There was a time when his heart belonged only to war.

He marched toward battles, victories, and ambitions, believing they were all he would ever need.

The world saw a soldier.

Then I found him.

Or perhaps... he found me.

And little by little, the man who had spent his life chasing power began to discover something far more dangerous.

Twenty-six years ago today, The Patriot premiered in Los Angeles.

In Italy, we had to wait until August.

I still remember that day as if it were yesterday.

The cinema was full.

Then he appeared on horseback…

As an equestrian, I always notice the horse first.

The rider usually comes second.

Except that day.

That was the day my life quietly changed forever.

That was the first time I saw William Tavington.

And somehow... twenty-six years have passed.

More than many real-life relationships last.

I was the only person in the cinema who didn’t cheer when he fell on the battlefield.

Instead, I quietly wished his story had ended differently.❤️

I still have everything.

The original VHS.

Even the receipt.

Purchased on 25 June 2001 at 4:46 p.m. for 21,900 Italian lire.

I couldn’t wait for it to be released.

I watched that tape so many times that I practically wore it out.

Then came the DVD.

And now, the restored 4K Blu-ray SteelBook.

But collecting editions was never really the point.

It was always about him. ❤️

I recreated his uniform as faithfully as I possibly could.

Every button.

Every buckle.

Every detail.

Not because it’s just a costume...

but because it represents a character who has stayed with me for more than half my life.

My greatest dream is still the same:

to find one of the original screen-used uniforms...

or anything that once belonged to him.

Some dreams don’t disappear with time.

They simply become part of who we are…

Some people say he’s only a fictional character.

Maybe.
