His heart ached and his chest contracted, anxiety seizing his body. His body felt tense, freezing him in place as his lips began to tremble around silent words.

He had to say it, he couldn’t go on without saying it.

“Stiles,” he called, his voice breaking under the tension. “I… I need to tell you something.”

“Hmm?” Stiles called back, wiping his face with a damp towel to wash away the remaining shaving cream. He tossed the towel over the edge of the sink and returned to the doorway, leaning against the frame and looking at Derek with sparkling eyes as he said, “What’s up?”

Derek couldn’t meet his gaze. 

His broad shoulders rose and fell, tears welling in his eyes as he swallowed hard and rasped, “I… You’ve been really patient with me and I know I told you that one day we would have… a sexual relationship… but–” He swallowed hard, tears tracing his cheeks. “I can’t. I’ve tried and I can’t… I thought I could make it work becasue I love you but I just… I can’t… I’m so sorry.”

He felt the mattress waver beneath him as Stiles’ tender hand fell on his forearm.

“Hey,” Stiles said softly, craning his neck as he chased Derek’s gaze. “There is nothing to be sorry for. This is your decision to make and I don’t ever want you to change for me.” His free hand cupped Derek’s cheek, his thumb brushing against the soft skin as the man lifted his eyes and met Stiles’ gaze. “The only thing I want you to be is you. I love you and I want you to be comfortable with me.”

“I am,” Derek whispered, leaning forward and resting his forehead against Stiles’. “I love you.”

“I love you too,” Stiles replied. He gently brushed aside a tear that caressed Derek’s cheeks. “Why are you crying?”

“I was so scared you’d hate me,” Derek muttered. “I was scared you’d leave me.”

Stiles leant forward and brushed his lips across Derek’s in a tender, loving kiss. “Never.”

And to top it off strange things are happening to Stiles, and he isn't sure how to deal with his changing emotions. At least he has a pretty cool dog though, that may or may not be a giant black wolf.
