I just watched the Lilith episode of Lucifer and I read that most people (at least from the people I know and follow) didn't like it and I of course went in with a bad idea of it but it makes sense.
Lilith didn't gave up her inmortality for a man, she never goes into the sunset with some dude wanting to live a happy married woman life. She longs the feeling to have something to cherish.
By the way she speaks of her children it's obvious that the moments they had together were good, it meant something for her (and later for Maze's reaction, we know that it meant something for them too or at least for Maze's).
Lilith talks about how it didn't go well with Adam and how it ended bad with God and where do we find her? Being entraintment for humanity, yes she's a star and has the money and whatnot but for an inmortal being it's become dull. Anything loses it's brightness and excitement when you spend centuries doing it, one way or the other and what motivated Lilith to do what she did was to feel that again, to know that it's going to end and it makes sense in the universe where she's from, we've seen it with Cain before and his obsession to end it all finally.
We know that God doesn't just give them what they want and doesn't give explinations and of course they grow frustrated with what they are supposed to do. What is one supposed to do with eons ahead of you? Lilith in that universe doesn't have a kingdom, doesn't own Hell, doesn't has a thousand demonds under her command. She's a wanderer in this humans earth and she doesn't belong anywhere. She's doesn't belong in the silver city or Hell or Earth and she's simply looking for a way to make it feel like every step she gives is worth something.
And things don't go well. She doesn't meet the man of her dreams or the woman, or the nonbinary pal. She's not happily married with another 5 children. She's a tired old woman with many regrets and of course she is because things ended bad with God and if we've learned something from Him is that He's a little shit and of course is NOT going to put some attractive sweet fella in front of her to be happy ever after, OF COURSE NOT! It's a big: you wanted a human life? This is what humans go through. Life isn't fair, God isn't fair, Fate isn't fair. And I'm here for it.
